NYTimes.com: "An average of 11.4 million viewers watched the Beijing Olympics on NBC Universal platforms each night — the smallest prime-time audience on record for any Winter Games and well off the 19.8 million nightly viewers for the Pyeongchang Games in 2018."

Why would they? Most Olympic sports are boring and irrelevant. People only used to watch this shit bc there was nothing else on.

Now that people have unlimited on-demand choices, nobody gives a **** about slalom or cross country skiing

Freestyle snowboarding can be pretty dope.

They even tried to make it dramatic like a daytime soap opera.

Hyped up a 15 year old as if she was some protégé
She happened to be a Russian who couldn't formally play for Russia
She later went on to test positive for PEDs
Olympic committee allowed her to compete
Then fell during a critical stage
Coach made coverage because of how unsympathetic she was following the fall

Winter Olympics aren't really sports in my opinion.

My favorite is the down hill... pushing 80 mph the Beijing hill was very dangerous.
4th or 5th skier down crashed , and they cut away.

Quit frankly out of bull riding , the down hill is probably the most dangerous.
I am surprised they have not permanently canceled it.

Sky flying is my second choice. Here in the midwest is a ski flying hill 60 miles from me , U.P of Michigan.
(those guys are just plain nuts)

I as well had a tough time watching them , because so much of the games are surrounded by competition via snowboarding.

Watched men's snowboard half-pipe first round where Shaun White managed to get to the final round. Quite an inspiring stuff.

Really, the Olympics are worth watching. Like I always feel kind of bad when I miss them, like this year. Like I guarantee if we all looked at a list of all of the events there's sure to be a whole bunch that are actually really cool to watch. Oh well. Next time.

the reason the olympics suck is because people hate their governments around the world and national pride is at an all time low

i couldn't give 2 f*cks about a canadian being the best at anything right now. f*ck canada

Most of the winter sports kinda bore me.
My girl like skating, so that is always watched. Some of the girl Ice Dancers are dimes.
I like the four cross snowboard, and curling has a strange fascination.
