I'm sure there are a few people on here who aren't old enough to fully remember how Bush was as president, but he was awful. The Iraq War by the time he was leaving was obviously a failure, and when he left this country was at its worst economically since the Great Depression. He was so unpopular that even John McCain distanced himself from him when he was running for president. His second term as president was just a shit show.

He left office with a 29% approval rating. He was way worse than Obama, Trump, & current Biden at the moment. And this is coming from someone who thinks Biden will go down as just another Jimmy Carter.

Bush was an awful leader too. Policy, leadership, cabinet, decision-making, the whole package was a sh!tshow. He was an accident of a president.

I would have to think who was the worse president between Bush and Trump, but the Iraq war kind of forces my hand. That war screwed up the next 10 years in a completely needless war & blew a few trillion dollars - we never completely recovered from that. The 2008 market crash also could be blamed partially on the Bush administration. There were ofc a lot of factors for the market crisis, but you have to partially blame Bush administration. It wasn't like people woke up one morning, and things crashed out of the blue. There were signs years earlier that things were falling apart. Bush administration screwed it up - they saw the economy was booming and were unwilling to do anything to mess with it. I can't even think of the good things he did because the bad overwhelmingly overshadows the good.

Horrendous president. Just horrendous.

It's interesting Putin and Russian apologists are giving Bush's invasion of Iraq as justification for the invasion of Ukraine. The United States doesn't have that much to show for it. If anything it should have been a lesson not to.
