The Mavericks have one of the NBA's best defenses this season, but as for their offense, here's an interesting note from the Mavs:

"Dallas improved to 15-0 this season when they shoot 50% or better and 28-0 when their FG% is higher than their opponent's."

They don't have enough offensive firepower around Luka. Brunson has been key as the 2nd ballhandler but the 3PT shooting around those two hasn't been that great. They'd probably be a lock for a top 4 seed if THJ didn't get injured. That Curry trade still haunts this team. I don't care that Seth is a liability on D, he'd be a huge positive as a 6th man on this team and a massive asset as a floor spacer at the end of games. Dinwiddie is solid as that 1st guard off the bench but that's not going to do it.

They could beat the Warriors or Jazz in a PO series if Luka does what he did last year but there's just not enough around him for them to really be a serious contender.

This is true.

Sadly one of the many similarities Luka has to Bron is he’s sort of a victim of his own strength. Once he gets drafted the team is done getting good lottery picks bc he carries them to too many wins. Theyd have been better off losing more his first few years, but instead theyre stuck on the treadmill with very little options for improvement.

They traded away his Mo Williams (Curry) for Josh Richardson :facepalm, then they traded away his Big Z (KP) for Dinwiddie and Bertans :banghead: . I wouldn't be surprised if he teamed up with Jokic & Donovan Mitchell on another team like Bran did with Bosh & Wade.
