Head to Head does not determine who the better player is. Its not a 1 on 1 contest if not Dominique would be seen as better than Bird. BTW if you are counting overweight older and injury prone Barkley age 33 after 96 then obviously Malone outlasted him and scored more :confusedshrug:. I use to have the head to head stats from 85 to 95 (ages 22-32) and it was Malone scoring 2 more point Per Game (24.8 PPG to 22.8 PPG) on like 7 FG Attempts more Per Game and in the 2-Point Region Area: Barkley shot 55% vs Malone 49.7%. So Barkley was more effective. Barkley also outrebounded, outassisted and outstole Malone Per Game in those Head to Heads from 85 to 95. Malone could never guard prime Barkley. McHale now he could guard young Barkley. McHale after 1987 was not the same either so the stats vs Charles or Karl are irrelevant. Malone shot 46.3% FG in the play-offs. That was not seen as great for big men back then. Malone's scoring was also a system where Stockton would get him the ball for easier scoring. McHale´s scoring was also easier cause of great passers that he had like that of Bird, DJ, Ainge and Walton off the bench. Barkley from 87 to 92 had the weaker casts and passers around him so that would mean Barkley's scoring would have a lower FG right? Nope, the opposite Barkley lead the league in 2-point FG% those 5 years with scrubs.

As scorers its Barkley, then McHale, then Malone.

So basically what youre saying is Malone needed Stockton, McHale needed Bird, Barkley needed youth and fitness... but all Lebron needs is a ball.

Interesting.

His 1986-1988 years he was a superstar, similar to ginobili in 2005-2007. Although I take Ginobili's 2005 playoff run over anything Mchale ever did.

People wont give them quite the credit they deserve though because bird\duncan

Player of the week awards. Malone with 23, Chuck with 11 and McHale with none. Not even for 7 days was he ever considered the best player in the league

I think you're sleeping on McHale's 1986 playoff run:

24.9 PPG // 8.6 RPG // 2.7 APG // 0.4 SPG // 2.4 BPG // 2.7 TOPG on 57.9% FG [63.6% TS]

That's a dominant two-way run. Guarded Woolridge, Wilkins, Hakeem, and Sampson. Did a great job on all of them.

McHale until 1987 was the best pf in the game

Thread went under the radar because Karl Malone has better numbers then both head to head.
