That's why he's literally not even top 10 in the MVP race
Other players have scored 50 this season too...they even did this week?
They also play D and get wins and aren't way below .500
This is exactly why no one takes bron stans and OP seriously....
No wonder OP spent NYE on here....who wants to hang out with such a moron?
Hell no. He’s still really good though but doesn’t have the impact he used to. Still one of the best scorers in the league though.

Not really, just speaks to the level you have to be to be the best. I have no doubt prime LeBron has this team in much better shape.

For what it's worth, here are my top 10 (NOT IN ORDER - DO NOT WANT TO PUT THAT MUCH THOUGHT INTO IT)
LeBron James
James Harden
Kevin Durant
Luka Doncic
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Steph Curry
Nikola Jokic
Joel Embiid
Anthony Davis
Kawhi Leonard
Ja Morant and Trae Young could be there and I wouldn't be able to definitively tell you because I haven't watched enough of them but there is something I seriously don't like about Trae Young... probably because he takes a ton of stupid shots and looks like he just crawled out of the gutter.
If you take AD and Kawhi off the list due to not playing, LeBron is comfortably top 10. If they were both always healthy, it starts to become an argument.

The stats suggest he plays above average defense.
LeBron isn't locking anyone up for an entire game, we all know that.
But I don't see how you could say someone that is averaging 1.5 steals per game and 1.0 blocks per game as the primary ball handler isn't playing defense.
LeBron definitely picks and chooses at this point in his career when he wants to play D but you guys make it seem like he's standing still 99% of the time on defense every single game. It's just not true.
He's a better defender than James Harden and Harden is still comfortably top 10.

No, I don't watch the games. But I used to, as recently as a couple of seasons ago when the same things were being said about his defense as they are now.
And I know that LeBron's defensive impact has been underrated for years despite the fact that yes, it is clear he doesn't put nearly as much effort on that side of the ball as he does on offense. He also throws teammates under the bus when he misses rotations himself. But he's still better than league average. I've seen it all.

Or are you one of those "stats mean nothing" people?
Because I can tell you the truth is always somewhere in between the stats and the eye test.
The eye test is incomplete. Stats are incomplete.
Objective 100% reality or even close to 100% reality evaluation in a team sport is literally impossible by the human mind for a plethora of reasons that are too much to get into. The amount of dynamic factors at play are exponential and beyond our comprehension.

more on malone. he made 1 defensive team his first 11 seasons in the league. then made 3 all defensive teams back to back to back in 96-97, 97-98, and 98-99 at 33-36 years old. did he become a great defender in his mid to late 30s or was the nba laughably bad during this span? i think we know the answer. and yes, any version of lebron, shits on any version of k. malone defensively.

He has flashes of good defense that demonstrate that he could still be a good defender if he wanted to. But he puts zero effort into defense most of the time so he can save his energy for getting points. Most of the time he's either getting torched or standing there watching his opponent score.

I would say Lebron is the best in the World I think you've got two issues...the season and the career. The career is a legacy list and Lebron is #1
Career -
1. Lebron, 2. Curry, 3. CPIII, 4. Durant, 5. Leonard, 6. Giannis, 7. Harden, 8. Embiid, 9. Carmello, 10. Lillard
Season -we have to wait till the playoffs, play out but as of now I would say
1. Embiid, 2. Morant, 3. Lebron, 4. Jokic, 5. Curry, 6. CPIII, 7. Giannis, 8. Derozan, 9. Durant, 10. Luka
The list could be entirely different in May/June based on how the playoffs go but Lebron is the reason the Lakers are in the playin. Embiid is having a legacy season but if he doesn't make the finals can you really call him the best in the world. Morant, Jokic, and Giannis are all valuable for their teams but they could all get knocked out in the first round.
