Maybe a sore ankle or foot and just shooting to see how it feels to land on.

Even bigs you never see do anything can shoot when it doesn’t count. Tree Rollins still has maybe the second or third best shooting display I ever saw in person(not counting nba players warming up). All those guys can play. But that…

Im gonna give him a “Testing the foot” pass till I hear otherwise.

Maybe because he doesn't have any lift or lateral movement at the moment he's practicing a shot for the scenario where he has a taller defender on him?

It's bad the bulls haven't won a game since he started playing for them.

Close... I would have said something like "with this guy as his second best player."

Do you see how he’s shooting it? What about that looks like it’s supposed to go in?

The gang sign he’s throwing up on the follow through? or the hide and seek position he’s in before taking off?

He can’t really score unless it’s at the rim.

I know y'all trolling but Tristan Thompson led the playoffs every year in offensive rebounding from 2015 to 2017 by a massive margin. He was basically Dennis Rodman out there as a 5th option. His motor was unparalleled.

Tristan worked in 2915 as an undersized big thay can switch

He's now useless against teams like Milwaukee Philly Denver....

Tristan Thompson was one of the taller heavier mobile dudes in the league. Guy is 6'11 and not a string bean by any means. He bounced guys around with ease but wasn't a stumble bum stiff. Honestly TT was a much better athlete than he was a basketball player skills wise. I could see that dude on an offensive or defensive line in the NFL with his strength, motor, and size.

What option was Dennis Rodman?

Thompson was about 25 in those Cavs days. This is Rodman at the age Thompson is today:

Don’t use the motor gods name in vain.

What option was Dennis Rodman?

He was colloquially known to be the 3rd best player and missing piece for the 2nd 3peat Bulls. Tristan Thompson easily out produced him in his playoffs Cavs stint and was... by a huge margin the offensive rebound playoffs leader... yet people treat him like he was a bum. When he was a 6'11 Dennis Rodman.

Dennis Rodman was one of the most athletic people to ever step on a court…past his physical prime he was able to guard Jordan, Shaq, Drexler, or Barkley…he was like a 8-9 time all D guy and won multiple DPOY….is in the hall of fame and made the top 75 all time.

And he was a smaller Tristan Thompson because of box scores at 35. I instantly regret my return. The confidence with which know nothings speak here is at an all time high and I’m unable to cope and keep my peace of mind.

lol if you've ever seen TT play, you shouldn't be surprised. Offensively he always looks like he's never held a basketball in his life. It always infuriated me how he always needed to catch the ball with both hands, gather and then go up for a layup/dunk with both hands. He couldn't finish at all with 1.

Stop conflating that with "option" then. There were 6 guys on the 96 Bulls who took more shots a game than Rodman. And of his 5 shots I'd be willing to bet that 3 of them were from putbacks and the others in transition.

He wasn't an "option" on offense at all. And he didn't want to be.

he's putting higher arc on the shot for whatever they're working on.
