Embiid with 19 in the first HALF.
The record is Dwight with 39, and he actually did it twice.
Improbably, second and third place on the list are both playing in this game: Drummond and DeAndre Jordan, with 36 and 34 respectively.
Presumably in all the aforementioned cases, intentional fouling is what pushed up the numbers. Which really puts Embiid's pace on another level.
Wilt's most attempts in a game are 34 and 32, fifth on the list is Shaq with a single-game high of 31.
Let's get this man a record tonight, refs! It would be such a proud moment for the game.

Shaq took I believe 39 vs the pacers in the finals though I guess those records don’t count the playoffs.

Dwight and Shaq used to get purposely fouled. Embiid wasn't being purposely fouled. The refs were just giving them some gas to keep it competitive. Embiid had 10 FTs in the first 8 minutes of the game. He's a fraud.

I said that in the post.

I agree. This game is just another example in a long line of ref rigging to make things competitive. The NBA can control lines and outcomes usually by how they call fouls. It didn't work tonight because the Nets were on fire.

One of the many reasons I can't watch Philly games. I'd much rather watch the Knicks, and they suck
