Mexico like Ukraine has no Alliance with NATO. If they started movements to join CSTO and drop a lot of the economic trade agreements they have with the US in favor of Russia/China, that not only threatens our economy but also puts a potential military enemy directly attached to our border that can assist in invasions.

I have no doubt the US would make every move to block that. Whether by sanctions or direct military force. And I'm sure the media would spin it to look like we're the good guys and they are the bad guys.
