I’ve followed JA since high school(he’s somewhat local) and I’ve heard such things in passing but players that athletic always have those aspects of their games overshadowed.

He is like a skinnier, smarter version of Westbrook. His rookie year i noticed right away that he was perfectly content to let other guys do the scoring for long stretches of games but in crunch time he would be more aggressive. He wasn't a guy who would just attack all the time because he could ala Westbrook. He rarely forced shots.

As far as having an elite IQ i haven't watched him enough to say that but i can certainly say his bball IQ is higher than you would think if you just watched his highlights.
