Wow really looking forward to this one!

On paper Mavs should have no chance here, going against a much better team on almost all positions.

I see Mavs trying to slow it down and look for mismatches. One such mismatch I could see happen would be Kyrie, Luka going directly at Kyrie again and again in the post to tire him out.

What do you think will happen?

The NBA regular season is such a letdown.

They need to pay these dudes pr game played.

Is that Doris Burke?

She looks like she's aged Damm near 20 years since the last time I saw her, maybe it's because she's not wearing glasses or summin :oldlol:

Kyrie is out but Luka is applying the tactic I thought he would.

Isolate the smaller Brooklyn guards on the block.

I was saying recently how Luka somehow has become a real leader. I feel like you can tell his teammates are now playing with supreme confidence because of his leadership.

Yeah its crazy, like if you follow Mavs you can literally see him get better month by month adding some new tricks. Don't think I've ever seen that before.

Every capable big will feast on the Mavs.

Current 2 big men are Maxi and Kleber and neither is a center.

KDs basketball IQ has gone up massively from his 3 years in Golden State

He truly understands what it takes to win and be a great leader

The end of basketball games are seriously fcking brutal. I've run out of patience with how long they take to conclude.

I didn't understand why Luka gets single coverage all game on mismatches even, while KD gets doubled every single play. That's the defensive difference you get when one coach is Jason Kidd and the other is Steve Nash. Kidd totally outdueled him.

Yes it's annoying to watch as just a basketball fan. Luka is allowed to play on an island and to get switched on by bigs and smaller guards all the time. Even the Clippers kept letting him do it too until they finally went small. It's ridiculous and shows you the difference between eras.

Those final moments were just super Lebron-esque, with big shot after big shot.

Credit to those guys for knocking em down, but also credit to Lebron for inspiring them.

I don’t understand how it’s happened bc the guy could never shoot a lick for 8 years in the L but being paired w/Luka has turned Dinwiddie into an all star caliber player.

He sure fits well in the scheme.

It's funny he reminds me of Michael Carter Williams or rather, who we thought he would be.

To be fair he was an All-Star caliber player in Brooklyn when he was arguably their best player after Kyrie's injury & helped lead them into the POs.
He's coming off an ACL injury as well. He's not an ideal fit offensively with Luka as he's still not a consistent shooter but he's really good in a 6th man role. They've been giving him starters' minutes as Brunson was out in some of these games as well but IMO he should be the first guy off the bench in the POs. The 3PT% will come down but his efficiency should be higher as he's not asked to do as much with the ball in his hands, now he's more of a play finisher and has better options around him as well so he's going to get higher quality looks.
The shooting stats right now show that he's shooting more assisted 3s and he's also taking a lot more corner 3s (10% higher assisted rate, twice as many attempts percentage-wise from the corner), so he's shooting more off the catch and from better spots as opposed to forcing some of the bad 3s off the dribble that he did in Washington.
