25/4/8 on 52% (44% threes on 6 attempts)

Then Kemp nearly won FMVP from MJ in the Finals

Nearly every 90's sidekick was actually a go-to player and threat that achieved top-tier stats or led their team in various series (1b).. See the Terry Porter thread here (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?502705-In-the-92-WCF-Terry-Porter-averaged-26-4-8-on-52-threes-(6-attempts)).

Going forward, more threads will be posted that highlight 90's sidekicks and their dominant series, such as Penny, Stockton or KJ.

Are you watching the games or just looking at stats?

Based on eye test, Payton was a better scorer, passer, defender and leader than Pippen, while having superior accolade as well (more All-NBA and All-defense)

Payton was a 20/10 guy like KJ or Hardaway, while Pippen never was

Only Jordan lacked elite scoring or passing help at sidekick.. Only Jordan lacked a sidekick that wasn't a threat and wasn't a go-to player, so only Jordan faced maximum defensive attention (carried scoring load in every series)

GP, Kemp & Schrempf all averaged 20+ ppg on great efficiency against the Rockets. You could argue that they were the 3 best players in that series.

To be fair, Payton wasn't a sidekick. That's like calling Kobe a sidekick to Shaq.

You’re talking to the wrong person if this is your stance

I rewatched the MJ series on Youtube and the defense was just insane.

People like to rag on MJ for shooting a low FG% but Pippen shot like what? 33%?

That was probably the series that led to the NBA wanting to open the game up, was insanely physical with all the grabbing going on.
