First off, I want to say Lebron has more longevity than Bird, so we'll give him that. He has that on him. Training protocols are more advanced and Bird played a bit more aggressively.
But after watching some footage of Bird, I don't get how you can say Lebron is better. Bird had way better moves and was just funner to watch.
If you look at stats, Bird was a better rebounder than Lebron. Bird was a more skilled passer, even though Lebron averaged barely more assists. The types of passes Bird did, Lebron could never dream of. Bird was a better 3 point shooter and a better free throw shooter. Bird was a better defender.
Lebron's advantage is his muscle mass, but Bird still averaged more rebounds.
Individually, you just have to give the edge to Bird. Not only was he funner to watch, but he was more skilled.
Sorry Lebron fans, but there are players better than him. You gotta respect some of the goats.

Bird was a better player, flat out.
Longevity is the ONLY thing Bronie has over the top tier of greats.

Yep, just a regular John Stockton. Was never putting up elite production or winning any MVP’s or FMVP’s.

Larry Bird was terrible in the playoffs for most of his career outside of 1984 to 1986 despite playing with a stacked supporting cast.
That's why saying he is a better player than Lebron is a complete joke.

Lebron is one of the worst finals performers ever at 4 and 6. Are you serious? The dude is a complete overrated, loser who lost to Dirk Nowitski.

Bird is one of my favorites all time but he didn't handle the ball well enough to be a team's primary ball handler. He wasn't a guy who was a big threat to beat guys off the dribble, get to the rim and finish. He could get guys off their feet using his shot fake and then get by them but if he was already dribbling he wasn't that dynamic.
I think he gets overrated at times because he was so much fun to watch. He would make a lot of OMG plays but there aren't any style points on the scoreboard.
Also when you look at his per game numbers you have to take into account he played a ton of minutes, 42 minutes per game for his career. Certainly he deserves credit for being in good enough shape to do that.
Also it's true that there was a fall off in the playoffs.

Bird is more crafty, higher iq, better passer, better rebounder, better shooter, better post player, better stealer and better team defender etc
Lebron is alot more athletic, heavier, stronger, faster, quicker, a better leaper, better ball handler, better driver or rim attacker, better 1 on 1 defender or individual defender etc
