View Full Version : If Jordan came back to the league tomorrow… it would only be his 16th season.

And he would probably only average 2-3ppg now
So how can you compare that (16th season MJ) to a 19th season LeBron averaging 30 ppg on 60% TS? :confusedshrug:

There is no doubt that when jordon came back with the Wizards, he had an unfair advantage over someone whose body would have had to endure all those hundreds of games he missed DESPITE BEING HEALTHY in 1993-95 and 1998-2001. And despite this unfair advantage, his Wizards season were an epic failure, both in terms of team success and individual stats.

Yes everyone knows that Lebron plays longer because he was allowed to jump from high school and he's a goody-2-shoes - no excessive smoking, drinking, gambling or partying.
But when did he ever play better than Jordan? When did he defeat maximum defensive attention (carry the scoring load in playoffs and Finals of title run)?

I still remember reading an article about Grant Hill from the late 00s, which was about how he could be playing so well at age 38. Hill said that his body was really younger than 38, because he sat out an equivalent of 3-4 seasons due to injury, and hence avoided the extra mileage on his body. But whereas Hill was battling an injury, jordon wasn't even injured in those seasons he sat out. Let that sink in.

No 38-year old will jump as high or run as fast as their 30-year self, no matter how much time they had off
Age is the only factor, not seasons or games played.
If you can't understand that, then you never played and are extremely clueless about the game you spend a lot of time watching (pathetic)

No 38 year-old whose body endured the mileage of continuous on-court activity season after season will have legs that are as fresh as a 38 year-old who had extended periods of rest.
If you can't understand basic kindergarten-level material like that, then you will also probably have a hard time understanding why coaches simply don't play their 5 best players 48 minutes every game, and why the league doesn't play 82 games in 82 days.

37 year old Bron vs 37/38 year old Jordan probably the most lopsided comparison ever.

So lemme get this straight...
You guys are saying that milage on the players body has more impact on on court performance than age?
So by your logic a 25 year old player can sit out 15 years, come back at 40 years old and be relatively fresh and perform better than if the same player played 10 continious years until 35 years old?

8Ball should probably press charges against the forum for child abuse. Multiple felonies committed this morning.

Cause of injury and you know this already but chose to ignore it again to make a mute point that is not even real
