Not a fan of Gyro’s as that tahini sauce looks like jizz and the guys preparing it on the food trucks in NYC always have sandals on with gross, fungal toes. Reuben can’t hold a candle to a good pastrami so Philly cheesesteak it is.

Turmeric is very good for the heart. It's a salty spice. And the lamb meat is cooked and served very similar to the way taquerias cut their meat. Dunno man, you should give it a second chance.

Gyros while great are something else totally not a sandwich.

Better third option for this would be Italian or meatball sub.

I grew up on cheesesteaks, theyre some of the GOAT sandwiches. Gyros WITHOUT the tahini sauce are a close second. I hate the sauce, but the rest is amazing.

This is true when I get a gyro I ask only hot sauce no white. And they are great.

the meat itself tastes good, but the spice ruins it. my tounge finds it offensive. and yeah i eat pastor. i have actually been going to pita jungle quite often to get their chicken breast, doesn't have tumeric but somehow they are able to make what is normally a dry piece of chicken into a juicy and flavorful cut. it's not fatty either. their broccoli is the business too, i just don't like it when they lay down the broccoli next to their tumeric rice.

When I was in Chicago --- gyros was kind of low on the totam pole , but Hot Italian sandwiches were the thing.

1. Cuban (no mustard for me and the pickles/mojo inside the sandwich)
2. A proper Chicken Parm (crusty bread, crispy chicken not too thick, good mozzarella and sauce)
3. Cheesesteak with provolone and fried onions.

I love a good Gyro, but it isnt even the best mediterranean sandwich... that honor goes to the Turkish version of meat shaved off a cone and served on flat bread, which can be found all over Europe as the "doner kebab".

anyway you gotta forgive most americans for having poor taste and being afraid of flavor... these people grew up on frozen public school food and trash like olive garden after all.
