I bet the opponent just happened to "get hot" again and the Lakers "just need to play better defense"

lol

Every team has a ball-dominator, but Lebron's ball-dominance is abnormal for a frontcourt player, so Lebron's teams are the most ball-dominant in the league.. This matters because ball-dominance lets a defense rest, so they have more capacity to go off offensively - the story is always how opponents "get hot" on Lebron's teams - see the 09' ECF, 11' FInals, 14' Finals, 17' Finals, 18' Finals, or 21' 1st Round.. Ultimately, Lebron's teams have the highest defensive requirements because they're always facing fresh offenses that aren't worn down by a good brand of ball.

A tenet of all competition is that the best defense is a good offense - unfortunately, Lebron-ball (aka "big man ball-dominance") applies less pressure and wears down opponents less than the ball movement it faces - it loses the attrition battle inherent in any competition.. The inferior brand of ball yields perennial Finals underdogs regardless of cast and barely meets the underdog expectation (4/10 including 2 teammate bailouts)..

It also underachieves the expectation - Lebron's teams were the preseason favorite from 2011-2016 but fell to Finals underdog or loser every year (6 straight years), aside from the Ray Allen miracle.. The Ray Allen miracle is the only thing that stopped Lebron's preseason favorite from falling to Finals underdog or loser for 6 straight years.

I don't understand why he benched Gabriel/Reaves in place of THT in 4th.. Horrendous.

Closing 5 should have been LeBron, Gabriel, Reaves, Monk, and Westbrook. I would have been okay with Augustin or Dwight playing a few minutes instead of Reaves or Westbrook in 4th. NO THT OR MELO.

Games like this is where you really see why the Lakers are Gabriel's and Johnson's 9th team in the past 5 seasons, and why the Lakers picked them up from the landfill. Those dudes play decent and hard when their 10 day contracts are on the line, but when they're an established part of the team and need to play well, they suck even by d-league standards. :oldlol:
Sprinkle that with a 0 point game from Reaves, a 3 point game from BUMelo, and above all Vogel's idiocy and this is what you get.
LeBron scoring about 30 AFTER he sprained his ankle and while already having a nagging knee injury is IN-sane. At the age of 37. In his 19th season.

Go and re-watch Curry desperately chuck up empty meaningless points in the closing minutes of the game 4 of the 2018 NBA finals after the game/series was effectively over, in a blatantly desperate attempt to fix his averages and win Finals MVP after his choking 3-16, 11 point performance of game 3. :oldlol:

Nah, you ain't getting off on that vague statement. All star players are "going for the FMVP" when the series starts. Curry was desperately trying to win it after the series was effectively over and he didn't deserve to win it because he choked in game 3.

I love how people rag on Bron's bad 4th quarter while ignoring his amazing start and badly rolled ankle that he played through. Let's say hypothetically that Bron did have a good 4th quarter, which means the haters legit expect him to score at least 45 points per game (instead of the 39 he got) to give the Lakers a chance at winning lol.

Those expectations actually make him seem more like the GOAT than not which is ironic.

Once again, your vague statement about him "going for Finals MVP" won't save you. He didn't "go for it", as in try to win it organically as the series went along. Every star does that. What Curry did was he tried to BLATANTLY STATPAD his way to the Finals MVP after a choking 3-16, 11 point performance in game 3. He chucked away shots when game 4 (and the series) was effectively over. There were 4 minutes left in the game with the Warriors being up 25, and this dude was chucking up shots in hope that it would cover the stench of his choking 3-16, 11 point performance from game 3 and even out his averages to be Finals MVP worthy. :oldlol:

How many LA games have you watched this season? They have shot like shit in so many games. LeBron isn't going to be the concentrated playmaker again if it doesn't work anyway. It should have been clear to anyone that the season was over for them long ago. Any time something good happened something equally bad or worse happened. He's not playing any semblance of defense, not even trying. That's the issue and why so many times he has the worst +/- on the court. His impact metrics show this. If he was playing D like previous seasons and getting these numbers, at that point nothing wrong with it.
