The alts will act like they're not impressed, but ordinary people (of the non-alt variety) will be looking at this season 50 years from now and marvel at how it was possible for a 37 year-old in his 19th season to average 30 on 50% and just 6 free throw attempts per game. :applause:

if he put as much time into playing defense as he does offense , he might even be consider a team leader.
(not how he plays and the team record he has)

If he put up the numbers he's been putting up and actually played defense, I'd be impressed.
As it is, his zero defense empty stats are not impressive.
The man just can't stop losing.

I suppose it depends on what kinda curve you grade him on. Most of the hall of fame having a fringe playoff team with your co star missing more than half the season and a largely washed but decent third guy while doing all time numbers? It wouldn’t be seen as like…playing poorly. Hall of fame duos have been healthy and missed the playoffs and nobody gives a shit big picture wise. The issue is of course than Lebron isn’t judged like a normal Hall of famer….but that’s where it gets tricky.
If your position is “If hes GOAT tier they should be better” you kinda lose the argument that they should be…when you yourself are saying he ISNT goat tier. It’s like a Toyota loses a race to a Porsche and a Toyota hater saying it should have won if it’s as good as Toyota fans say it is.
Ok. Maybe it isn’t as good as they say. But if it isn’t….shouldn’t it be expected to lose the race…and therefore not have its performance critiqued as if it was capable of more?
If you don’t think LeBron is as good as his supporters say then having a borderline playoff team given the injuries this year isn’t shocking considering how many people we accept as great have had poor team seasons while producing well individually.
The only way to call his season literally unimpressive is to hold him to a higher standard than a hater of his likely thinks he deserves to manufacture a reason for criticism.
If he were someone else 10 of these seasons get him into the hall of fame where it would be hard to argue he wasn’t good. It’s only unimpressive by a standard it feels like the unimpressed don’t actually think he deserves.
It’s judging a family sedan by supercar standards and calling it slow. Unless you think he IS a supercar….at which point there isn’t an argument it’s not great. It just might not be as great as some other super cars. Which you can call overrated but it’s hard to call it unimpressive bottom line. A good car is a good car even if it’s fans mistakenly think it’s a great car.
It’s hard to look over the history of the game and say he’s not currently impressive bottom line. You have to raise the standards a lot to do that. And once you do that you kinda tacitly acknowledge that he’s good…or that you’re trolling and arguing from a position you don’t believe just to have an argument.
Long point short….
Hes gotta be impressive if like…Adrian Dantley, Melo, any of those mid to low end HOF guys impress you. And if guys like that don’t impress you…I guess only the goats are impressive which is…a weirdly high standard for that word. Are their only 5-6 impressive people per era?
If you think he’s GOAT tier maybe he doesn’t currently impress you. If you think he isn’t…I’m not sure how you don’t list an awful lot of the better players ever as unimpressive for portions of their primes. Kinda blunts the impact of it doesn’t it?

So Kobe won an Oscar, Shaq now has an Oscar, meanwhile Lebron has a Razzie for Worst Actor, on-screen couple. It's like bronze all over again with this guy 'cept it's worse, it's finishing dead last, forget the podium.

I'm impressed. I played pickup games at that age regularly. I was in good shape but two games a week was tough to do. Cant imagine trying to play an NBA schedule, especially a guy who relies a lot on his mobility. It is easier for plodding big.
Unfortunately his season was sabatoged by LeGM.

Lebron's averages are impressive if you put 0 context behind them, but they're not that great if you've been watching the Lakers for the past 2-3 months with how he's padded the totals in the blowouts. Hard to be impressed with anyone when the Lakers haven't won B2B games since January 7th.

Yes and no.
Yes to his shooting from deep at times. He wasn't always this streaky from deep and that's where his big point games have come from. Also impressed by his athleticism for his age.
No to his lack of D, body language, finger pointing and most importantly, lack of WINNING.

Let's be real, no one watching 27 year old Lebron in 2012 winning his first ring thought he'd be this good 10 years later.

The people who aren't impressed by Bron this season haven't been impressed by Bron in any season because they can't stand how good the dude is at basketball

Lakers are 25-30 when Lebron is in the lineup (0.454 win percentage), which is more worse than MJ ever did
And he had the preseason favorite, depending on the source

Impressed when he tries, not so much when he isn't getting back up the court and generally looks like he can't be assed wasting energy on a losing season. It's crazy he is still so good though.

Lol they're so pathetically desperate. It's like they're trying to convince themselves what they're seeing at 37 isn't goatesque.

Let's be real, no one watching 27 year old Lebron in 2012 winning his first ring thought he'd be this good 10 years later.
Since then, his combination of age and mileage taken into consideration, it would've been perfectly acceptable for LeBron to average 17 on 45% shooting this season. Had he averaged 20 on 47%, it would've been considered great. But this marvel of a man is averaging 30 on 52%. At the age of 37. :applause: In his 19th season. With a nagging knee injury and now a hurt ankle. Ho-Lee shit!

Maybe I read your response wrong but just to clarify, I really admire his game and he's entertaining as hell but I do get frustrated with his body language during games from time to time. Hard to blame him being frustrated but I understand why the trolls say what they say about that stuff. Really impressed otherwise though. Hope he has another 2-3 years of this left without resorting to trying to bully his teammates.

Yes and no.
One one hand, I'm impressed by how masterful his offensive game has become when it comes to picking his spots, his three point shot, and his off ball movement at times. He's really showing everyone that he could have led the league in scoring several years if he had tried too but preferred coasting in the regular season to save himself for the playoffs.
On the other hand, I'm not impressed by his lackluster leadership this year at all and of course, his lack of defensive effort that has cost his team a lot of games. It's also hard to give him a pass when he had a huge hand in constructing this shit show of a roster.

It's hard to not find what he's doing at his age impressive but it's only impressive in that aspect. If he was 30 playing this way it wouldn't be that impressive mainly because he's not playing winning basketball. He's playing for stats this year but it's still crazy watching a 37 year old do some of the things he's doing.

In 2022 they were #2 in Preseason odds and currently 11th in the West https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2022_preseason_odds.html while a team that was 21st in odds has a better record right now and destroyed them in a game.

there has been a number of good NBA players that had horrible teams and racked up the stat line.
Bron is proving it again he can get stats on a championship team as well as losing sub.500 team.

The Lakers dropping to a 6-14 record without him is yet another reason to sit back and marvel at what LeBron is doing in the 2021-2022 season. At the age of 37. :applause: In his 19th season. With multiple injuries.

Right because 6-14 is so much better than 25-30 or whatever they are with him. They're losers with or without him dude
Lol at multiple injuries. Lebron is one of the luckiest players in terms of avoiding injuries.

You must have confused him with The Great Scott Pippen and Dennis Rodman/Horace Grant missing 0 playoff games in the Bulls 6 championship runs.
Now THAT's true avoidance of injuries.
