rookie season, with the exception of the 2014 season when Durant played like 30 games and OKC barely missed the cut on a tie-breaker to AD's Pelicans (they won 45 games), and that season you basically had to be a 50-win team to get in in the brutal West.
This season's success was predicated on AD being healthy with the way the team's constructed, that's the bottomline. He's the only star capable of manning the interior and rebounding plus combining for PnR, inside scoring, lobs and putbacks. You lose all of that, you're sunk. We ended up playing small ball with a bunch of 35+ veterans, and not ones who are particularly adept at protecting the ball either.
Glad we're lottery-bound. No reason to prolong this DOA experiment. Fire-sale and start fresh. Thanks LeBron.
