on the heels of pulitzer prize winning progressive journalist chris hedges getting cancelled (https://scheerpost.com/2022/03/28/hedges-on-being-disappeared/) by youtube for simply being affiliated with RT America (which btw is neither pro nor anti-putin), jimmy dore interviews chris about liberal cancel culture and how the left has absolutely lost their minds in regard to culture wars and freedom of speech in general. everything he says in this interview you'd swear was coming from a... 'right-winger'.

the supposed 'extreme' or 'far right' views that get either dismissed or shuned by liberals (their version of fake news), chris makes clear from an alternate perspective how much truth there is to it and approaches it from a different angle (a populist left angle).

there's of course nothing ground-breaking here... i just find it refreshing when someone of the opposite political affiliation can agree with views of the other simply because of the fact that they're in pursuit of the truth; as opposed to just being a partisan hack and siding with their 'sports' team. long interview, but worth it because it shows that there are indeed honest lefties out there and like i said, explains it from a different angle.

Hedges is, and has been, one of the most brilliant, sane, common sense journalists among the alternative progressive/leftist media.

Hedges was fiercely against the lies Bush/Cheney fed us, in ways the mainstream “left” of CNN & MSNBC wouldn’t quite go to, due to their corporate sponsors.

Hedges was optimistic about Obama’s chance to undo some of the wrongs done by the bush/Cheney administration, and then took them to task when they expanded the surveillance state and continued the abuses of Bush/Cheney, and murdered Khaddafi and destroyed Libya.

Hedges has legitimate moral courage, legitimate levels of unbending principle, and has rightfully earned a prestigious place in left wing progressive politics.

The tech elite’s treatment of him lately has been disgusting.
