Hey Bronnies,

I have a question. How was LeBron able to carry a "team full of scrubs" to the Finals in 2018, but is not able to carry a "team full of scrubs" to just the 10th seed in 2022? :confusedshrug:

I feel common sense can only suggest one of two things:
A) LeBron's 2018 "carry-job" was completely overrated and he actually had a very good supporting cast
B) LeBron has fallen off a cliff talent and impact-wise in just 4 years.

Which one is it?

Even for ISH standards, this is an incredibly idiotic thread.

1. LeBron played 82 games in 2018, he'll play at most 60 this year.

2. That "very good supporting cast" won 19 games the year after he left.

3. The most obvious explanation, one that is frankly embarrassing it needs to even be explained to you, is that LeBron was a significantly better player in 2018 than he is now. "Just 4 years"? Acting like the difference between 33 and 37 for an athlete isn't a substantial one.

He leads the league in scoring, sure. But his defensive effort and clutch play have been awful. All in all, he's 4 years older and can't carry an offense like he used to.

So if it's B, why have you spent your waking moments gargling his balls when he's played this poorly this year?

Anyone who thinks LeBron had a good cast in 2018 should be evaluated for retardation.

He single handidly carried that team to the Finals.

On a scale from 1-10 if LeBron's impact was a 10 in 2018, what is his impact on 2022 failing to get 10th seed?

2018 LeBron > 2022 LeBron >>>>>>>>>>> 38 year old Jordan >> 37 year old Kobe

We need to keep it in perspective

The 2018 Cavs had the best sidekick in the conference and were the only 2-star team in the conference - they had a shoal of championship veterans against a bunch of 0-star teams led by Oladipo and Horford

Ultimately, the Big 3 super-team of 2015 was still a 2-star team of Finals veterans with a massive edge over inexperienced, 0-star opponents.

Teams with championship experience have always had a massive edge over a newbie team, especially with the best sidekick, so Lebron had a big advantage over the East in 2018 - that's what happens when you hand-pick super-teams but it's simply been misreported.

Lebron did the same thing that Jordan did, except Love averaged 20/10 against both top 5 SRS opponents in the 18' Playoffs (Warriors, Raptors)

So Lebron never beat good teams with bed-wetting teammates (no carry-jobs against good teams in 2 decades), while Jordan beat top 5 SRS teams all the time while Pippen wet the bed..

That same feeling you had as Lebron carried the scoring load throughout those Eastern Playoffs is exactly what MJ did for his entire career - being the only focus of the defense
