Criticizing this LeBron just means you subconsciously hold LeBron to a higher standard than Kobe/Jordan since they were both aids at the same stage :confusedshrug:

Which other 19th season player did it better for us to hold LeBron to?

Jordan missed the playoffs and so did Kobe. Whats the problem if LeBron does the same?

jordan won 6 more games though

and kobe doesn't count. he had a career ending injury. would be like me comparing my juggling skills to an amputee

Jordan was 20ppg on 40%, LeBron is 30 ppg on 52% (better than Prime Kobe offensively)

I thought 3ball was the board's most persistent poster, but this dude gives him a serious run for his money. He must have made 2 dozen threads (at least) on this topic by now, and there's no end in sight.

I guess as long as the same posters keep responding to him, he'll just keep at it.

If Bronie hasn't come close to catching MJ after 19 years, what's the point?

I guess Durant didn't get the memo, he's still playing better than Kobe ever did after Achilles tear

Durant after Achilles tear: 30/7/6 on 64TS%, last year he had a 67TS% and was the best player in the playoffs (Giannis literally called him the best player in the world during their series)

Kobe after Achilles: 18ppg on 47TS%:roll:

Shit.... thats an insult to amputees

If this stupid "play-in" existed in 2002/2003, Jordan's Wizards, finishing 10th each year, would at least have made the damn play-in. LeGED with 4 other HOF players can't sniff higher than 11th.

And if only 55% of teams made the playoffs like they do today instead of 69 percent like they did back in the 80's, MJ's first playoff appearance would have been in 1988.

SO you admit, with today's top 10 get a crack at it rules, that Jordan even at age 40 never officialy EVER missed the playoffs? Lebron has almost 4 times now (will get #4 in a week).
Just another stain to a legacy of coming up short (Bronze Olympics, Lost in HS with the best team, 6x finals losses, etc.)
I assume 87 Lakers was the year you were born then? If you'd seen MJ play live like I did you'd never question who the GOAT is (and I've seen Lebron several times being in Ohio).

Yeah, just relaxing playing 3 years of college ball (and winning a chip) and then baseball (my son plays HS varsity - they train almost constantly, Double/Triple A is no joke. Lebron hasn't played defense since leaving Miami - you're 6'9" and just stiff arm / travel all the time. Is that skills or just muscle? You know the answer. LeRoids for sure.

Old MJ couldn't even make the playoffs in a historically weak east. No way he survives today.

39-year Jordan got hurt, but 38-year Jordan was 1 of 3 players getting 25/5/5 (Kobe, Tmac, MJ).

Furthermore, the league defense was far superior and gave up 8 less points per 100 possessions.. So Jordan's 25/5/5 would be 30/6/6 in today's game at 38 years old, and 33/7/7 at 37 years old

Atrophy and NOT playing is significantly worse than staying in shape, and playing. Mileage is hog shit. And not all mileage is equal anyway. Age dictates how one recovers from constant play, and recovery.

We never saw 37-year Jordan play

We only saw 38-year Jordan and he was 1 of 3 players getting 25/5/5 (Kobe, Tmac, MJ) in a league that gave up 8 less points per 100 possessions than today's game

Worst case scenario for current 37 year-old/season 19 LeBron is all-NBA 2nd team. And that's only because he missed games due to multiple injuries. Post-35 year-old jordons and Kobes wouldn't have made the all-NBA 4th team (if such a thing existed) in any of their post-age 35 seasons, with significantly less mileage than LeBron by the way.

If 30-52 record 8th seeds existed in 2022 like they did in 1986, LeBron would've clinched his playoff spot weeks ago. Not to mention he wouldn't have missed the playoffs in any of his 19 seasons, including his straight out of high school rookie season at the age of 18.

On the other hand, if 42-40 record = not enough for a playoff spot existed in jordon's pre-The Great Scott Pippen days like they did for LeBron in 2005, then we wouldn't be looking at a jordon who merely has a 1-9 playoff record without The Great Scott Pippen, but one with a 0-0 playoff record without The Great Scott Pippen, because he wouldn't have made the playoffs without The Great Scott Pippen at all.

Lebron was lucky to miss the playoffs with his worst teams, so he never had to carry bad teams in the playoffs like MJ did.

MJ was forced to carry 30-win teams in the playoffs and build them to champions, while Lebron started with a veteran high seed in the 06' Playolffs - he started his playoff career with one of the best teams in his conference..

Scottie wasn't impactful until 89, his second year. He was a good talent. But he wasn't a superstar, and wasn't close to that out of the gates.
