He won two rings by being the frosting on the cake of a stacked and established warriors dynasty. But outside of that, what works with KD to win a ring? Spot up shooters? Complimentary point guard? Dominant big man? What works with his game? Other ISO stars? I feel like his best chance at being that guy on an organic team where he optimized his talents was in okc. But that team was raw and front office did not keep harden, a true sixth man who should have never been mvp

Any kind of team should work since he's quite versatile. You got a ball dominant guard like Russ, KD can play off ball. Heck in OKC he played alongside 4 non shooters and still kinda made it work. Playing alongside stars in GSW, he can sacrifice his numbers and played more defense. Playing in an injury laden Nets, he could take over games.

To win a ring you just need better players than the other teams. That's about it most of the time.

Question is kind of silly. There is nothing you would or want a small forward to do that he can't do better than 90 percent b t of the 3s in NBA history. It is impossible to design a team that he wouldn't fit into unless the goal of that team was to lose. Brooklyn hasn't worked out yet because of injuries and personalities other than Durant's. I don't like the colluding but fair judgement of him as a basketball player says he's one of the best of all time. Not in terms of wanting to beat the best but just when it comes to playing the game? Very short list of guys that were better.

He's an MJ type

-ball hogger
-needs the most stacked team to win
-needs to play weak competition
-cant win without all perfect circumstances in line

The kind of cast that typically helps any superstar win championships (besides Lebron).

High IQ veteran role players.

Thats what basically every NBA champion has around it’s top players.

Lebron is the only one who’s won with below average crap in the rotation.

Durant's game is so pure that he was about to win organically in Year 4 with a reputed goat cancer teammate.

He didn't get it done because one of his peers colluded and stole his ring - but his OKC tenure still showed that he has good teams if given time to develop with the team.

The problem is that he's never had that development time since OKC due to team-hopping - he had to stop Lebron's collusions by fighting fire with fire.

but the team-hopping robbed him of the ability to develop great chemistry with teams... And apparently Lebron got the only 2 complete playoff runs out of Kyrie of Kyrie's career, so KD hasn't been able to cut his teeth alongside Kyrie to build that chemistry

It's just funny how fickle sports can be. If KD's toe is behind the line, the Nets very likely win the title last year, that potentially changes the entire dynamic with Harden, and we'd be debating whether KD's a top 10 player of all time. On the flipside, Giannis would still be seen as a huge playoff choker and not considered among the true ATG's as of yet. Instead, Giannis is the defending champ and FMVP, and the sky's the limit on where he'll end up all time. Meanwhile, KD's very likely going to be heading into next year at 34 and with only those Golden State titles nobody respects to his name.

Yeah, and we forget he tore his Achilles right before 3-peating and we watched the Warriors collapse to lottery without him

He's still the best in the world too, Giannis admitted as such

Yeah but the Nets play pick-up ball.

so they're wasting KD's goat scoring ability

the advantage of having a TRUE goat scorer is that the coach has carte blanche - THEY CAN RUN ANYTHING THEY WANT - Durant's game will always fit because that's the definition of "goat scoring ability"

We saw Jordan win instantly the moment a coach started using his scoring strategically.. Early on in MJ's career, coaches used to have Paxson find MJ as soon as possible after crossing halfcourt - coaches felt compelled to have MJ close the possession as soon as possible, which defenses could anticipate.. Once a coach started using Jordan's scoring later in the shot-clock, his teams were unstoppable

The Nets have a similar problem - they don't take advantage of Durant's scoring by running a sick offense.. They just play pick-up ball.. btw, the same goes for Kyrie and his goat scoring ability - why waste it with pick-up ball?

Replace the ball hogger to stats whore then you just perfectly describe Bron this season
