every team should just double LeFlop every time he touches the ball just so he doesn't win the scoring title.

what he's doing is complete BS. seriously, f*ck this guy.

I don’t think they care if he wins it as much as you do.

you're right, most are probably too busy talkin to their bball groupies to care about anything else.

but i know LeFraud cares about winning it. big time. which makes it even cringier tbh. do you think MJ ever thought about the scoring title?

If I were Vogel or someone on Lakers Board, I would not let Lebron play in the last 3 games. He does not play on games that his team needs him a lot. He is just picking games for the scoring title.

We don’t care about all your long winded thoughts as much as you think we on ISH do. Like that?

Less I’d imagine. I can’t picture someone like PJ Tucker sitting at home worried about who wins the scoring title. I’d say the percentage of people here likely to read a topic I make is considerably higher than that of nba players who care if Lebron leads in the league in scoring or not.

I know for a fact he did. He talked about it many times. This is one of his more thorough explanations on his approach to it:

. I'm not really into stats, either, except if they can help maintain the drive for me. For instance, scoring championships. Sure, I know what it takes to win one. I can average 32 points a game and know I'll win. Eight points a quarter. Three baskets, two free throws. It's as easy as that. I'm down four, I get can 12 the next quarter. But I don't let anything like that take away from what the team is trying to do. I can sense my points. I can tell early when it's going to be a big night or average or when it's just not clicking.
If it came down to me needing a basket to win the scoring title, I would only take it if the team was where it needed to be. I would never go to Phil and say, "I want to do this." Like Nykesha Sales and that basket they gave her so she could get the record (https://www.foxsports.com/college-basketball/story/uconn-huskies-villanova-wildcats-nykesha-sales-geno-auriemma-022916), I would take the opposite approach. If some team gave me an open lane for a layup for the scoring title, I'd pass the ball. I wouldn't want it. Things like that happen to me a lot in the fourth quarter. Phil puts me in to give me an opportunity to get my scoring up, but if the game's decided, I look to do other things.

Teams should focus on winning. Period.

Something Bronie should focus on as well.

he's literally saying that he puts the team ahead of the scoring title.

Did you actually read the quote?

He is saying that he is literally gunning for the scoring title game in and game out... literally quarter by quarter. And he probably did that for a substantial portion of his career.

He just wanted to emphasize at the end that winning was his biggest priority, and if he had to choose between scoring title and winning, he'd take winning... but you best believe he was gunning for that title every year. And he did say he didn't want a hollow scoring title, so you can hold that against LeBron I guess, but...

LeBron has chased the scoring title how many times now? Maybe a small handful, this season being one of them? And you hold it against him?

Cognitive dissonance at its finest.

lebron got these nerds panicking over a 37 yr old winning the scoring title. what's funny is the damage has already been done. his point made. any time he wanted a meaningless scoring title...he could have had one.

you lose either way.

he's literally saying that he puts the team ahead of the scoring title.

He was recorded saying “He’s not going to let me win the scoring title” to BJ Armstrong when Phil got control and implemented the triangle asking him to score less for the team to be better.

Not that it matters at all. None of this does. Jordan wanted to win scoring titles. Shaq explained once that he kept his average high making sure he scored 3 times a quarter because the free throws would come with that to keep him around 30. We have watched noticeably unselfish guys like Drob fun for the scoring title. Kareem and Elgin hayes fought publicly over one because the league decided to change from totals(like all other sports) to averages for the title. There’s an article with Kareem asking if anyone even knows who leads in rushing yards per game or do you know who leads at the end of the year trying to make his point.

Rodman stopped caring about anything but leading in rebounds by the time he was done. Moses always wanted that too. I’m prettt sure Tmac shut it down in 04 after narrowly playing enough games to qualify. Half the all time scoring games were people gunning for scoring titles. Drobs 71, David Thompson scoring 52 in a first half, Gervin doing 66 with the single quarter record Klay later broke.

People have been kinda lightly stat padding for individual league leading awards for 75 years.

Long as people obsess over stats to decide who is best players will want their stats to reflect it. Just make peace with it.

Im not even sure who wins the “title” if Lebron doesn’t because he’s all anyone wants to talk about. I don’t see why it matters much either way but a lot of these guys do so….whatever. It’s only as big a deal as you let it be. I know Steph won last year. I have no idea who did the year before that. Or before that.

Im not sure who led in any year after Westbrook did it with the 32. Well no Harden had to a couple of them but I don’t know which to be specific.

Its trivia. Don’t let it get to you.
