View Full Version : why I don't miss working

1. the alarm clock. every day hearing that same song or buzzer is literally a kill me moment

2. that extra cold morning air inside when getting in and out of the shower. then going outside and feeling that damp quiet bird chirping foggy bullshit atmosphere

3. having no time to jack off and having to do it into the sink in your work or restaurant bathrooms cause your prostate is about to explode

4. seeing your boss every day and hearing his life's problems and him trying to make a case for it all being your fault

5. being reminded of the same shit you heard a million times over

6. seeing the same stupid ****s every day and having to come up with new shit to talk about to pass the time

7. spending an hours pay on lunch because packing a lunch is woman's work

8. making shit money for wasting 70% of your life away. basically just enough to live and get by

9. being too tired to do anything after work and your feet being swollen and numb

10. catching every disease interacting with dozens or hundreds of people each day

11. being consumed with trying to have sex with every women that you work with. then realizing it wasn't worth it after you break up or get in a fight and go into a silent mode that lasts for months until one of you quits.

12. constantly having more and more responsibilities when your wage only increases at most a dollar an hour.

13. not being able to take sick days without possibly losing shifts because you can't tough it out

14. having cameras on your every move and being stalked by some creep in front of a computer.

15. being asked to do overtime when in reality it's an order cause if you say no too many times youl get fired

16. having to risk life and limb for some tasks and fixing/clean up duties. always facing the possibility of getting robbed and murdered.

17. dealing with drunk people and kids

18. always spending every dime you make no matter how much you make or how much you work you will never have the will power to save for the future. so taking on more responsibility and hours and tougher jobs really just means you're gonna buy more useless shit. and what you can never buy is that time you wasted back later in life. the realizing that you should have worked the bare minimum with the least amount of responsibility and enjoyed your spare time more because freedom is priceless

I'm so glad I never have to do any of that shit again

Working in an office sucks ass. For many reasons in addition to ones listed above.

Working from home rules though. Especially since I can get my workload done in 1-2 hours and then I'm just chillin'.

Word. That was by far the best outcome from the pandemic, employers finally realized that having employees work in the office 9-5 M-F like we did before we had computers was extremely antiquated and unnecessary.

I spent the last decade in office jobs. Moved countries in 2019, came back home because my wife wanted to be closer to family with the 2020 existential crisis, and I'm now into car detailing, a complete 180 and I love just interacting with one client and a car. Dat it. No catty females, gossip, micromanagement, passive aggressive sociopath colleagues LED lights overhead draining your energy, asking for vacation time. **** the corporate office bullshit.

I'm mortgage free, child free, have two rental units, and comfortably 6 figures in the bank. Someone who's on here with an alter ego asking for money to send their daughter doesn't need to be puffing out their chest. Trust me, 'cleaning cars' as you tried to downplay it is fukk-around money for me so I don't have to hear my wife nagging about sitting around the house playing Xbox and talking to idiots all day on message boards.

When you've spent 20 years working in Government and the private sector dealing with some of the bullshit I've had over the years, you'll understand why a simple job away from that is all you need when most of my income is passive off real estate.

a cracker is a slave owner that cracked their property with whips. which isn't really an insult. it's like calling someone master

Cracker culture really refers to people from the northern British isles lol. There was a dichotomy in the UK where down south, by London, people were more posh and elegant. As you went north it became much more rowdy. Southern USA rednecks all came from northern England and modern day Scotland. There s a book called cracker culture that shows they already spoke in the broken English that most southerners today speak in like saying y'all and ain't in every other sentence.

I have businesses in multiple industries. I would still want most of my employees to clock in. I've specifically seen employees half ass it in IT related jobs, 'cause they've taken up 2/3 contracts at the same time. One of the reasons why I'm a proponent of automation and AI.

what's the asterisk for though. like I said it just looks like the work cracker but censored for online. do you say an audible "censor/asterisk" or bleep yourself while saying it I don't get it

Working can be very beneficial if you enjoy what you do, especially for people who don't have much hobbies. The trick is finding the right balance between work and free time. Also regular exercise is a key to one's mental health, people know the physical benefits, but you would be surprised at the mental benefits you can get from it as well.

Us humans were made to be active, we have the capacity to build up our endurance in a way horses can't, I used to jog 5 miles a day and still have plenty of energy afterwards, in fact I always feel more energized after a good workout. Now I mostly do burpies, mountain climbers, planks, jumping jacks on repeat for about 50 minutes a day, with only a 10 sec break in between.

I don't think I've ever met a happy human who just sits around all day doing nothing, no work, no exercise etc. That is a recipe for disaster.

my grandfather loved working. when he wasn't working he would work in his garden or garage. and when not doing those things he would sit on the couch sleeping. all he ever really enjoyed doing in his down time was checking his stocks. for people like that it's good to work but if you have a multitude of interests/friends/hobbies/passions then work is a slow death

I literally try to get banned every day lol. there is some truth to what you say though. I post online to keep my get togethers fresh. If I sent every opinion and piece of content to my friends every day then I would have nothing saved for when we all got together. I save personal stories as well. it's all content that makes good conversation. for like the past 5 years I've been bookmarking shit on my laptop that I find interesting or funny or disgusting and after bbqing, gaming, going to the beach if we all end up too drunk to move I'll put on the laptop and run through all the shit I saved.

when I'm in the car picking people up at the mall or driving them to the train station or sitting at the beach il bring up funny shit or controversial subjects. I'm always the center of attention and have the chill zone so I'm responsible for entertaining people. I have 10 grand invested in multi-player games from every system. I have every channel and ppv. I'm the only one with a car most of the time and always responsible for planning everything. I also don't like being overwhelming with my friends. I let them message me first for most of them. especially women.

so you could say ISH to me is like a trash can or a toilet for my overflow. that or I use you to bounce ideas off of/jokes/videos/discussions. you're like a test audience.

all I'm gonna say is that when I worked I blacked out everything and woke up 10 years later in the blink of an eye.

then since I stopped working it feels like I've been alive for 40 or 50 years.

you will literally live 1/6th or 1/7th as long as me.

I even cut down my sleep schedule from 8 hours to 5 or 6 to gain even more time

you can't get that time back. if you can afford to work less then do it. work more hours and less days. take less responsibility

have more free days to relax and do what you want. cause even if you only work 6 hours then that's all you're gonna think about and you won't wanna stay up or go anywhere.

you could have a long weekend every weekend and go to cottages weekly like I do much of the summer.

not just for a few weekends out of the year like most families

all I'm gonna say is that when I worked I blacked out everything and woke up 10 years later in the blink of an eye.

then since I stopped working it feels like I've been alive for 40 or 50 years.

you will literally live 1/6th or 1/7th as long as me.

again, if you were dead, kids wouldn't even know what work means

don't really know what point you're trying to make but if you mean kids today don't work anyway then I dunno. good for them? but a ton of them still do. and most of the time it's the ones that are deeply in debt with student loans working at gas stations and grocery stores or fast food locations.

not everyone works at home as an administrative assistant or some other comfy zoom/phone type set up.

for those people it's definitely a bonus. its after my time though
