View Full Version : The Lakers gave up organic dynasty pursuit (many chips) for Lebron's one-off fraud

The Lakers gave up all future draft picks and cap flexibility along with Ingram, Kuzma, Ball, KCP, Caruso, McGee and more (organic foundation) for a one-off bubble gum chip that no one saw or remembers or counts.

Lebron's frontcourt ball-dominance is the worst kind of ball-dominance that has the worst teammate fits and ties a coach's hands into playing a simpleton, low ball movement, low team assist brand.

These 2 factors (weak fits and brand) is why Lebron's frontcourt ball-dominant skillset needs the most help in history - it literally needs infinite help because it needs more help regardless of cast.

I count the lakers chip as legit so you’re wrong already lol. The premise that Ingram ball and kuzma etc is a dynasty without bron is comical. They’re not even a dynasty with him. Ofc you also have no concept about the salary cap. Lebron with that young core is paying some luxury tax, Jeannie buss obviously doesn’t want to

They can buy as many chips as they want at the supermarket. They have a lot of money. Convenience store could be more expensive but they can afford that too if they don't feel like driving.

It's not all the way legit though. Fans could not be at the game to celebrate with the team. No championship parade. 5 month off-season before the POs. That's not normal. Bran and maybe AD both can't play a full season and be healthy for the POs. It almost feels like a complete failure.

The question is how much are the Lakers milking that one-off chip? Interested to hear what GimmeThat thinks about it.

If you can't see a difference between the 2020 run and how it normally looks like, I don't know what to tell you. It's a ring of course, but it didn't feel the same in the moment and it will be remembered as an anomaly in the history books with a fat asterisk next to it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching that Playoff run, but playing 3 injured teams and a pre-prime Jokic wasn't exactly the toughest road either.

Wtf are you talking about. The Lakers were the worst NBA team for 5 yrs straight and 12th worst in NBA history. They would have needed 50 years to even make the playoffs again and Lebron came in as a god and just gave them a title like it was nothing. They should build him a statue!

The asterisk fans thinking they decide what’s real have always been funny. Every banner every hater called an asterisk or fake or whatever still hangs, the rings still shine, and they all get called and considered champions. You win the situation everyone plays. You’re the champion of that season and what happened in all others are and always has been irrelevant. 500 leagues across various sports had winners in weird circumstances. College and pro. Thousands of people have their rings, medals, belts and memories from events with no fans, or in centralized locations, on islands, or whatever they had to do. Boxers, rugby players, soccer, mlb, Olympic athletes and so on. The Winter Olympics was just played without fans with all kinds of rules wasnt it?

Every single one is still a champion. A virus and the resulting precautions don’t steal success from people dealing with it. Can’t win the 84 ring in 2020. You re the champion of 2020. Which is what the rings and medals and all say. You win your situation like every other year and every empty gym boxer, gymnast, and basketball player in college or pros who won will and always should be considered a winner.

Stop making it a Lebron issue. KCP. Kuzma. All those guys will wear their rings forever because they are champions. The kids who won March madness. The nfl teams with piped in fan noise. The shortened mlb season with different rules and weird back to backs and innings. The 7 or whatever game teams in college football. The whole world dealt with it best they could and everyone who payed named a champion if possible. They all count. Every record will show they won. Lebron James is not sports. He’s one of thousands of people who earned titles that year and there’s no reason to take anything from them.

History certainly won’t care what you think of the 2020 lacrosse champions any more than the nba champion. You won or you lost. That’s it.

You’re a ****ing idiot. Every team in the NBA would give up what they have for a chip. 19 months ago they won! You think they knew covid wasn’t coming to stop their season when they traded all those roster fillers that haven’t done Jack shit still? The Lakers were the worst team in the NBA before Lebron got there and they just won. So soon you forgot Kawhi and PG joined teams and KD and Kyrie joined at the same time as Bron and AD.. two of them got rings and the other 4 are still trying. Talking about “nobody witnessed” I guarantee your weird ass wasn’t at none of the last 10 finals to witness them so you saw the “bubble chip” just like you seen all the others.
