Lets say Derrick never gets injured and Butler becomes what he is today, ceteris paribus the rest of the team filled with the right role players, can they win a chip?

I'd say yes, they'd get one and definitely steal a couple of finals from Lebron. They got close in 2015 with a diminished Rose and pre peak Butler. Jimmy got to the finals in 2020. Put 2011 Rose on that Miami team instead of Dragic, you instantly have a team that can compete even with GSW.

Rose and Butler could have been the new Jordan and Pippen for Chicago. Shame.

Theres a million factors that go into it, I think under most scenarios it’s quite doubtful they win a chip (assuming theyre both on max deals) but I suppose there are a few where they could. Probably ones that include injuries to opponents in the playoffs and whatnot.
