Things for the coach to consider: teammate fits & brand of ball

On-ball/off-ball player that fits with any teammate or system for sure.

Kawhi is perfect because he wasn't always a ball dominator from day one. Guys like Lebron and Luka don't know how to play because their born ball dominators.

It's like pickup basketball. You want to punch the guy in the face who plays like Lebron

No question, the on-ball/off-ball that fits any system. That kind of player can help you win not 1 but 2 3peats. With the ball-dominant player, everyone is at his mercy. Everyone will need to adjust to his game and if it doesn't work, he gets your fired and everyone traded.

Agreed - the coach is hog-tied by the ball-dominator and forced to play a simpleton, low team brand where the ball-dominator hogs the assists - its a paper tiger that requires ridiculous supporting talent to win.

People forget that Kawhi beat Embiid AND Butler AND Simmons

Then he locked up Giannis before beating the Curry Warriors
