Wouldn't say that he was clearly on his level when he was busting his ass on way to winning 2 fmvp's. Overall for their careers though i'd agree bron was better.

Hahah
Tatum was a rookie. Brown was a sophomore. Like 19 and 21?
The Celts then and now are different.
But KD struggling is still crazy tho. And what LeBron did was still amazing, but c'mon y'all. This a different type of Celtics team.

KD had one of these performances last year against the eventual champion Bucks. Without the series win of course :lol
I think that's the last time we will ever see anything like that from KD though.
The irony in this is that Bran stans always talk about "competition", then drool over 2018. :lol
The only accurate thing about that year was that it was one of the biggest carryjobs in the playoffs ever. Nothing more, nothing less. But on a team perspective, it obviously doesn't happen if he did have bonafide teammates and coach rt.

Durant averages 33 ppg on blistering efficiency vs LeBron in the playoffs and holds a winning record. Beating a rookie led team isnt impressive.

Durant's organic chip in 2012 was robbed by Lebron's super-team collusions, which also stole organic chips from 13' Duncan and 16' Curry.
But it's reported the opposite.....
Durant is viewed as stealing rings from Lebron when it was actually Lebron that stole rings and hand-picked preseason favorites from 11-16' before Durant responded in 17'..
So Lebron upset the competitive environment and distorted the historical rankings by stealing everyone's rings - if Durant wins in 12' and Curry repeats in 16', then their historical ranking would be much higher, while Lebron would be lower.
The point is that Lebron was never anything that great, so this thread title is misguided.. All the accolades that people give him props for were manufactured.

KD joined the team who he blew a 3-1 lead to. He also the joined the greatest regular team of all time, in order to win his rings.
I don't care if he was their best player. They did not need you, but you needed them to win rings. He's a b-tch and so are you for having his back. I can not respect you at all. I already had little to no respect for you, imagine now.

Teenage Tatum was the 2018 Celtics best player. Beating rookie led teams as a veteran in your prime isn't impressive. If he beat 30+ ppg prime Tatum we see today that would be something but given how close the 2018 series was the Cavs wouldve lost if you transplanted prime Tatum (and brown) to that younger team.

Only on inside hoops would we still be talking about the other 18 Celtics. Ofc the current Celtics are much better outside horford and I take white over rozier too. However, there are superstars who couldn’t take the 18 cavs to the playoffs let alone finals. KD has a healthy Kyrie right now and Bruce brown/Seth curry would be the 2nd best cav in that series with love being injured

It's obviously close but I think Lebron does the little things better and has a higher basketball IQ.

Was that the same year the Cs got closest to the finals in the last five seasons as well even without kyrie playing during that time? :oldlol:

Durant can do things Lebron can’t.
Shoot from 40? Midrange? Post up? Logo threes? :confusedshrug: Year 19 is capable of doing things like that.
One thing for sure, KD can't do is carry Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr, Injured Kevin Love to an NBA final.
This doesn’t really prove anything regarding that. Durant is having his worst series at age 33 / year 15. Lebron had it at age 26 / year 8, which is significantly worse.

Consistently get to his spots and knock down midrange shots. Reliable from the line.

LeBron has been locked down a ton of times in his career. Even fatass Boris diaw had him playing like crap. That's probably not the argument to make. Tony Allen was an extremely elite defender.

He is a small man compared to Durant. And Durant (Mr Wayne) has always struggled against "elite small defenders".
Tony Allen isn't going to guard LeBron. Marcus Smart isn't.
Jaylen Brown & Tatum tried and failed too (everytime they faced LeBron in the playoffs.

Pre 2005 rules change, we would have seen the effect of the defense on Lebron's limited moves. The rules change basically allowed him to take advantage of his size/athleticism for all his career and moreso even now at his late age.

Tatum and Brown only faced LeBron as teens and rookies so that's another bad argument. Tony Allen is one of the best man defenders on the perimeter of all time. He wouldn't be bullied by bran. The guy was strong as ****.

You are literally upset because LeBron didn't decide to stay in Cleveland and lose his entire career. He exercised his rights as a free agent after fulfilling his contractual obligations. See you're one of those that believe in that slave master mentality. Player's aren't allowed to make their own decisions in your eyes soo you make bs post like this. Furthermore, the Thunder were favorites over Miami in 2012. The series was evenly matched. The "baby Thunder" narrative was created after the fact by weirdos like Skip Bayless. You want to shame LeBron for ruining basketball yet give KD a pass? This is why nobody takes you seriously.

both lebron and Durant rigged all their success. they're both responsible for the most embarrassing era in nba history. the banana boat era
that being said I have durant as the more talented/skilled player but lebron is higher ranked all time simply because he has twice as many fake accomplishments. but... if it ever comes out that lebron did in fact take steroids I will void everything he's done since being linked in 2013 which would put them on more of an even playing field. and in that case durant would get the edge all time

KD is a shot jacking ball hog. LeBron is a much higher IQ play maker who also has many ways to score. It's not even close. Never was. Prime LeBron would still destroy this seasons' Celtics team.
KD is the most overrated player of all time. He's lucky Rapaport didn't break his legs.

When you have superstars who have scoring, rebounding, defense, passing, freak athletic ability, and two way positional versatility IN SPADES for their position, that type of package is HARD TO TOP! This is the combo that enabled MJ to pass a prime Bird and Magic by in the 80's as the best player in the league. Kobe had that combo and was the best player in the league for awhile. And of course Bron has it. Who in my book is the best all around player ever.
So Bron at his best WAS BETTER than KD at his. When Bron was getting deeper into his backend prime days, I feel KD was the best player in the league. But once Giannis stepped up his scoring stage presence, it gave him the COMBO that MJ,Mamba, and Bron had in his own way. And Giannis is a 7 footer to boot on top of it.
So as great as KD is, if his scoring TAKES A HIT he can't dominate a game in as MANY WAYS as a MJ,Kobe, Giannis, and Bron. Sure KD's scoring ability SUPERCEDED Bron in his tailend prime. Or Giannis BEFORE he peaked. BUT when a Bron, Giannis, or MJ PEAKS, it's difficult to top them as the best in the world. Even for an all time great like KD! A big on the level of a Kareem, Shaq, or Hakeem may have more of a chance in my opinion.
Scoring skill wise, KD is the top SF ever. Jus saying Bron could PHYSICALLY DOMINATE a game if all else fails. Could go out there and be the best passing forward of all time along with Bird. Get triple doubles WAY MORE! And can play and defend 4 to 5 positions. All the while scoring (PPG wise) just as well as KD. So the question becomes is KD's scoring ability SO GREAT that it supercedes all the things a peak Bron or Giannis is capable of on the court.

Durant swept Lebron when Lebron had a loaded team.
Let's look at the starting 5 for LeBron's team that series
George Hill
JR Smith
James
Love
Thompson
Yet you call that loaded? That's a lottery team without James.
Here is what a real loaded team looks like.
Curry
Durant
Thompson
Green
Who cares about the rest:roll:
The Warriors top 4 players were all miles ahead of any of LeBron's teammates.

Kyrie got hurt last year. Him and Durant were dominating the playoffs to the tune of 6-1 when it happened. Youre shooting yourself in the foot.
The thing you guys have to realize is LeBron has lost with more talent than anybody in the top 20 GOATs. He is an 11 seed with westbrook this year. Durant used to lead contenders with Westbrook.
You re simply not in any position to talk this year in a LeBron vs KD debate. LeBron led an 11 seed this year and AD played more games than Kyrie. Let that sink in.
