Kobe Bryant won the Finals MVP award in the 2010 NBA Finals.

After him you got:

2011 Nowitzki
2012 LeBron
2013 LeBron
2014 Kawhi
2015 Iguodala
2016 LeBron
2017 Durant
2018 Durant
2019 Kawhi
2020 LeBron
2021 Giannis

It's a forward league. :biggums:

Let's hope for Doncic, Trae, Ja, Lillard and the most likely to do it sooner than later are Steph and Devin Booker.

Which guard do you see winning FMVP in the next 5-10 years?

Im so nba'd out

it's been like this throughout history. it's insanely rare for a shooting guard to win finals mvp. which is why his should be respected more and Jordan's should be untouchable

then I guess kobe was a point guard most of his career and for all 5 titles since he led the Lakers in assists and handled the ball more than fisher.

sorry but your position is more to do with your size and who you defend. rondo and caruso were the point guards for LA

Is bron listed as a pg? He plays foward position a part of the time on offense and pretty much full time on defense which means he plays the foward position more than any other. Op is spot on. Who's the one trying to rewrite history?

Hopefully Tatum can continue the trend.

Actually, the Play-by-Play data says that he only played 42% of his minutes at "PG" in the 2020 Playoffs (though he didn't really defend PGs all that much), and Lebron's not a true point guard either.

I think it has more to do with the strength of the position and coincidence.

The years before the Lakers you had Pierce, Parker, and Wade win.

And he shouldn’t have.

9 consecutive wing players won finals mvp before Giannis.

Wings are the best and most dominant players (kawhi and Tatum).

Durant would be if he gained some weight and wasn't such a low mental toughness loser
