honestly this is a good question, does the guy even like basketball?

I can't see him being any better than what he is now.

The man his right handed and shoots with his left hand. The opposite of LeBron.

Bron is a lefty and shoots with his right. Like WTF? :biggums:

It’s entirely possible. 3 time all star, all d, runner up DPOY, and one time all nba? That’s about what most really good players would peak doing isn’t it? I’m not sure who would be comparable.

Michael Finley(different kinds of player obviously). Michael Finley do much more than that? Glenn Robinson maybe? I don’t know.

Who is on roughly that level of accomplishment?

Once you get past the obvious jokes(a trash can…something like that) what names come to mind? The good but not great players(ignoring that relative to the rest of the league anyone all nba is great…I’m talking more figuratively).

Ok.

Iggy
Diaw
Doug Christie
Cuttino Mobley
Gerald Wallace
Draymond
Kenyon Martin

How high on that list would Ben be?

4th? 5th?

Dude is making 20 million to decide he doesn't want to play. Owners gonna have a field day with this one during the next CBA talks.

Bum.

If he doesn't care at all from this point until the league stops giving him opportunities? He's Andrew Bynum.

Damn, a 3 time All-Star. I seriously only remember him playing in one. Buy yeah, he may give it all up early like Larry Sanders did.

Thats mostly popularity/media narrative stuff.

Fact is hardly anybody actually respects the career he’s had.

I think you owe Michael Finley an apology.

I hope so because I’m tired of that bs

About half of that was coach selected not fans or media.

Basketball people have always been more into him than casual fans who barely pay attention. Basketball people talk about defense more than almost anything. Especially coaches. Shouldn’t be surprising he was highly regarded.

It's very hard to take power back from the players. Has it happened to a significant degree in sports? I'd love to see evidence to the contrary.

Ben Simmons told Nets leadership that a mental block for him to play is creating stress as a trigger point for his back issues, per
@ShamsCharania

Nets players and coaches wanted Simmons to show “resolve” and play in this series, even if it was for limited minutes.

Psychosomatic. Interesting. Expect Brooklyn to be getting sued alongside Philly by November.

Skill/potential wise? Probably at or near the top. Based on what he has done? Definitely below Draymond/Diaw/Iggy/Martin/Wallace. Don’t remember Mobley and never saw enough of Christie.

Ill go with this take.

He won't be able to improve his game while trying rehab his back.

I mean I guess that’s definitely true. But there isn’t any evidence he was going to improve even if he was perfectly healthy.

He’s done being a meaningful professional athlete. IMO. He’s not tough enough and doesn’t care enough.

There is only one way to describe Ben Simmons - “He don’t want it.”

Can't argue against this either after the content discussions with the Nets got leaked.
