64. KD (12.9)
Some players with a better 2022 playoff PER:
Patrick Beverly
Max Strus
Fred Van Vleet
Brook Lopez
Bones Hyland
PJ Tucker
Chris Boucher
Has there ever been a worse meltdown? A top 15 player netting a 64th best PER in the Playoffs...

Jayson Tatum ripped his chest open and took a shit in it.
Now for a guy who was known as -literally- quite literally, unguardable, and relatively complete as a player, he was shit on from every aspect of basketball for 4 games.
Passing exposed, shot selections exposed, defense, IQ, physicality.
Punked, humiliated, exposed at everything on a court for a guy who is supposedly top 10 or 20 caliber ALL TIME.

this is why i hated it when guys like jj redick said shit like, "look, KD is the best player in the world...
anyone talking bitw is like, 'there's kd, and there's the rest'" like no.
thats why he shouldnt be exempt from criticism.
its impossible for him to go down as bitw this year.
Luka will smoke Boston.

He was as incredibly flat as a top 15 all timer could ever be. It was...unfathomable almost.

Lebron colluded with the 2nd and 4th best PER in the league while promising 7+ titles, only to lose and get outscored by Jason Terry in the NBA Finals.

Meanwhile, stephen curry lost hca to matthew dellavedova and eventually blew a 3-1 lead in the finals despite being on a 73-win team. :ohwell:

He had a rough shooting slump; however, that happens to all players from time to time.
The Nets were never a serious contender anyway, the Celtics were undeniably the superior team.

Kawhi and Durant both eliminated one another in 2014 and 2016. Kawhi led spurs in minutes during the 2014 WCF
Westbrook was top 5 mvp voting in 2016 and outplayed Durant
Then Durant/kawhi both took advantage of the other getting injured in 2017 and 2019
I don't see the edge for Durant there. Kawhi is better at everything then Durant. Kawhi also took a raptors team to the title that never won before Lowry siakam, while Durant jumped on the 73 win back to back west champions.
Kawhi clearly has the better legacy. Not to mention kawhi is only 31 much younger and will be better then Durant for the next half decade.

Since more players have gone deeper into the playoffs and played tougher teams, wear and tear, etc. (basically less 1st round stat padding) KD's PER position has improved from 64th to 56 :lol

He fell right into the Maxi Kleiber, Demar Derozan, Cameron Johnson, Boban range.

He sucks without load management and has never been on a lackluster team to begin with.
He also made poor decisions after the 2019 ring and has never won anything significantly ever since you stanned him so hard.

I haven't actually taken the time to check, but I think this is the first year since 2010 that KD didn't have a teammate that made an all-nba team. Pretty sure Russ made it in 11-16 and Curry made it 17-19 and Kyrie made it in 21.
LOL...just obscene levels of help.

Which to someone with a reasonably functioning brain clearly indicates that PER isn't the end-all be-all stat.
