I've always thought Klay Thompson was overrated. A great spot up shooter who doesn't do alot else, although he really doesn't have too because his shooting is that good

So back to the original question, does the GSW win those championships with "Thunder" Dan instead of Klay Thompson?

Well ‘Thunder Dan’ was one of MJ’s biggest rivals, but Im not sure he hacks it in The Lebron Era.

He was good, but to compete in The Lebron Era you need to be GREAT.

Honestly, probably. The only thing that changes is Thunder Dan ain’t saving the season like Klay did in 2016.

Another interesting question is who’s the “worst” player you could replace KD with and still win those titles. Jordan Poole? Someone worse than him?

Sure, Dan Majerle was an all star.

Yes. Klay had his moments but they still win 3 titles IMHO. They maybe lose to OKC in '16 and Houston in '19, but they're not losing in '15, '17 & '18.

Since they were even winning in the playoffs without Steph, they'd even win without Steph aswell.

They were such a good team. But they'd lose without Green, who is like their most impactful player.

And btw lol at caling a guy that's capable of dropping 60 pts in 3 quarters in his pyjamas and has the 3 point record all time overrated. If anything he's underrated.

Klay is about the same as Reggie Miller, but better.

no. peak klay can guard 1's and 2s. curry would have to defend more and he will get fatigued. we've already seen that but it would be more often.

Regular Season

Hornacek (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hornaje01.html)'.... 17.7 PER.. 2.9 bpm.. 0.153 ws/48.. 42.1 vorp on 33,964 min.. 15/3/5 on 58.2 ts
Klay (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/t/thompkl01.html)............. 16.4 PER.. 0.7 bpm.. 0.110 ws/48.. 14.4 vorp on 20,380 min.. 19/3/2 on 57.5 ts

Playoffs

Hornacek (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hornaje01.html)'.... 16.5 PER.. 3.1 bpm.. 0.145 ws/48.. 14.1 vorp on 4766 min.. 15/4/4 on 57.5 ts
Klay (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/t/thompkl01.html)............. 14.4 PER.. 0.7 bpm.. 0.091 ws/48.... 3.1 vorp on 4570 min.. 19/3/2 on 56.0

And Miller destroys Hornacek... :confusedshrug:

The most overrated player group is sidekick champions like Klay or Pippen - their performance is Iggy-caliber but the winning spotlight inflates them to All-NBA and all-time great status

Probably. There's not alot of difference between the 2
