View Full Version : did kawhi Leonard make the most retarded move in nba history leaving toronto

this team is about to knock out the 76ers coming back down 3-0

they have the best coach and GM in basketball

vanvleet and siakam are both legit allstars

lowry would have stayed if kawhi was still there.

if they just got a big man they would be the deepest team in the league with a great bench and kawhi would have been babied like he was in 2019. still healthy. still on load management.

but instead he went to team up with Paul George

and to make it even worse he left a guaranteed return to the nba finals in 2020.

the Raptors this year would be going for their 3rd title in 4 years. and maybe 4th in 4 years considering they had the right plan to stop giannis. so does he even win in 2021?

kawhi ends up top 5 all time instead of top 30 or so.. sad

what a loser.. both him and dragic missed out

he went down the next year anyways. gimpy ass.

what use is a player that just sits on the sidelines all season long. no thanks I'd rather rebuild with the rookie of the year.

He got to his home, where he can make the most money.

Siakam isn't any better then Paul George

Vanvleet is just a role player

I don't really see it. Unless they actually beat 76ers then you can talk. Right now their nothing more then the 2008 hawks

PG is near the end though. hes on the down slope of his prime. vanvleet and siakam are just entering theirs. plus the others on toronto are good too. but most importantly the GM and coach plus training staff would have all benefited kawhi 10 fold

Could be right, i guess kawhi could of foreseen their prime.

But the way they played with kawhi (scared shitless most of the time) and forcing kawhi to have ridiculous usage in closeout games (48% in game 7 vs 76ers and over 40% vs bucks game 6).

It was a carry job. So Kawhi's mindset was probably how can i get on a team with an actual star because none of these guys are right now. Siakam might be but that's a guessing game i don't want to risk playing.

I feel George still has 3 seasons left playing as a low 20PPG scorer, which is good enough. They just need to get rid of scrub cancers like Morris as the celtics did and then they can fully become a title team.

kawhi needed the raptors just as much as the raptors needed kawhi. but only the raptors will compete for anything going forward

Does it really matter where he plays if he can’t even stay on the court? Right now his inability to stay healthy significantly trumps whatever team he plays for.

this isn't about what kawhi wants. its about making the most retarded move in nba history. it doesn't matter if vlade divac or the hornets were happy with their trade in 96 if they had a fetish for big hairy foreign dudes or divac always wanted to be in charlotte for some reason. thats still an all time bad trade and will go down as such

same with jordan going to the wizards. it doesn't matter if he thought it would be fun or if the team would have benefited. it hurt his legacy somewhat

same with lebrons colluding everywhere with everyone. he thinks he controlled the narrative and called his own shots and began the player empowerment era. it ruined the nba and any shot at him being the goat

he went home. and proceeded to choke a 3-1 lead and sit out the next two seasons.

meanwhile we've been stockpiling nice young players like scottie barnes gary trent anunoby etc.

where is the L for raptor fans? all I see is Ls for kawhi and Ls for the clippers. :oldlol:

Then again, he's not getting paid to be smart, so he'll be ok.

Outcome would have been the same for Bran & the Lakers. They'd win it all in 2020 because of the long break with all 3 healthy, and then they have the same injury problem in '21 and '22. Maybe Bran doesn't lose in the 1st round last year but it's not like he can stay healthy either. Clippers probably win it all last year if Kawhi doesn't tear his ACL, but he always gets hurt. If people think AD's injury history is bad, go look at how many games Kawhi's missed from 16-now. I guess he'd at least have 1 more ring if he did join the Lakers.

Different era.

Players back then often took pride in being the guy. Tmac wanted to get out from being under Vince's shadow. The bullshit collusion fest wasn't a thing at that point.

But yes, I agree. In hindsight it was a shame that they couldn't just jive.

I don't think that 1 ring would have boosted his legacy/reputation at all though. If we had an AD/Kawhi/Bran Big 3 with Kawhi joining that team to create the greatest Big 3 in NBA history, none of them would have got much credit for that ring IMO. I think it worked out better for the Lakers & for Bran's legacy.

Just need to trade morris.

Maybe Kennard as well if you can

And pick up a pass first PG like john wall who would be a good in a role player role

I can see back 2 back titles. The west is wide open and curry is only getting older
