Warriors should do the following:

* Do not over-emphasize small ball. Jaren freaking Jackson scored 33 points on you. Imagine what Giannis would do. Do not over-emphasize small-ball. It won't be a "death lineup" it will be our death. (this was related to Green being out, but Memphis gets switches and can't rely on one defender of bigs). As good a defender as Wiggins is, he can't guard a guy like Jackson.

* Screen up top. Back screen. Give shooters more time and our 3 pt % will go up.

* Stop hassling Payton about "fouling" Kerr. Let him play D. He was a difference-maker today.

* Draymond needs to chill; you're not Magic Johnson; stop with the reckless passing.

* Klay needs to be more team-oriented; his help D on the last play was great, but he needs to be doing that all game long.

Home cooking isn't happening if Warriors win game 2 as well. Them not reviewing Klay's FT was incredibly suspect, and Steph's 5th foul that Kerr called which would have taken Brooks out, was a block. Dray's flagrant was a F2 in RS, nobody hands those out during the PS.

People don't understand that Warriors always defend with gameplans in mind (not addressing you). For example, Ja made as many 3s as he made all series vs the Wolves. That's by design, he's a mediocre shooter from 3 and they want to egg him to just. keep. shooting. If a player is taking 30+ shots, Warriors gameplan won. Maybe not in a single game but over a series, that will always work. Only outlier was with LeThick & FlatEarther.

The goal is to turn Ja into a volume shooter, they're even easing off on the 3 point line to get him to pop it. Sometimes a little too much, so I hope they make adjustments. The goal is to slow down the guys I talked about yesterday on here, and they did. I wanted them to work on getting JJJ in foul trouble which didn't happen, and he made the team pay.

1. Turn Ja into a volume shooter, egg to shooting 9+ 3s.
2. Slow down the actual shooters of the team
3. Try to get JJJ's ass to the bench with foul trouble.

The review was in slow motion and even then Brooks barely moved. Playoff argument is not good enough reason not to call a flagrant 2. Flagrant 2 is a flagrant 2 in this era of basketball. The Klay FT I will have to agree, but the Warriors got some phantom calls as well.
Dray pulled him and then grabbed him up to ensure that he wouldn't get hurt. When you watch the review again you see him grabbing his shirt as he's falling to pull him to ease him hitting the ground. If that's an F2 during the playoffs, than this game is dead and buried. It's dusted.

I guess GSW will be extra motivated on the next games, especially Dray and Klay.

That's elite shooting

Plus he had 10 assists

They lost the game sitting Ja for 7 minutes in the 2nd quarter and cooling him off after his 14 point 1st quarter. He would of put the warriors out of their misery in that 2nd quarter
No it’s not. That’s 53.3 TS%.

Elite play is much more rare than you think. This is how guys get overrated quickly.

Ja Westbrooked his way through this game. Not Chris Paul’d it, not Magic Johnson’s it.

Poole and JJ were elite or close. Everybody else was something iess than that.

Reg season and playoffs is different. Curry had similar FG% he just shoots Free throws better.

But don't get me wrong, I am impressed by how the Jordan Poole led warriors have played this season. They finally got an alpha to replace Durant so curry can do the bitch work again

He had 34 points in 31 shots, that ain't good. And his 3PT % doesn't tell the whole story. Warriors were sagging off him to shoot 3s, he was open in most of them. If Ja averages 30FGA per game, this series is going to end real quick. Curry was kind of average, Ja was pretty good, but JJJ and JP were the two players that were exceptional. And GPII for a "6th man". Steph not having a great shooting game and Warriors winning isn't good news for Memphis though, because that isn't lasting all series. He still had enough good shots that looked good, he just missed them. That can continue at most one more game but even though, I suspect a 30PPG on better eff next game.

Anyway, can't focus too much on this game. Memphis had it rough that they played a series away and had to play at home 1 1/2 days later. That can't be easy. We'll see Tuesday what adjustments both teams make.

ATG raw numbers but 34 pts on 31 shots is not that great, he was the 3rd best player on the court.

Steph's winning the FMVP. Even if Poole is slightly better in the Finals, they're going to give Steph the award like they should have in '15.

I don’t even know how its possible to be able to single handily do that when your whole team is far from that. The best thing he does for his team is when he’s actually sitting on the bench and not playing lol. What a great team, too bad they have to carry his ass around all the time.

34/10/9 on 52.6 TS% in 38 minutes at high pace is not ATG at anything. He wasn’t ATG on either end just watching him in context.

This game was pretty much a classic example of a lead guard forcing it.

Let me give you a very telling Draymond quote about facing Westbrook,
“I see Russ a lot. The way I like to defend Russell is sometimes I like to sit back and make him shoot jump shots and sometimes activate and force him to go to the rim.

“As crazy as that sounds — most people would say, ‘Why would you send Russell to the rim, that’s what he wants to do?’ (And it’s true) the best thing about Russell’s game is not his jump shot. If you’re going to pick any shot for Russell Westbrook to take, it’s his jump shot

https://www.mercurynews.com/2017/04/19/draymond-green-delves-into-defense-on-westbrook-harden-others/

Warriors are giving Ja the Westbrook treatment and he’s falling for the bait. He’d have to have the skill and IQ to kill GS and not be rushed into chucking while doing it.

If JJJ is going to average 8 3PA per game, I'll take that any day. Keep him away from the paint and get him chucking. Warriors need to do a better job to get this man in foul trouble though, because he's going to dominate the paint otherwise. Steph and JP need to go at this guy even if they get blocked a few times to draw some fouls.

Do you really think the Memphis defense is treating Curry the same as a guy playing in the playoffs for the first time? I like Poole but a 72% TS isn't sustainable.

Team game plans have to be taken into account when judging stats. Durant clearly had an awful first round by the stats but watching the games it was clear the Boston game plan was focused completely on slowing him down.

GS is perfectly willing to give Morant all the jumpers he wants. They did the same thing last year. In the last game of the season last year they played way off Morant daring him to shoot and he went 1-6 from 3, 7-21 overall. That game secured the 8 seed.

I don't need to tear Trae down, I just had some fun because you guys made crazy proclamations. Saying the guy is the best offensive guard and the most guarded player in the entire NBA, both absolutely insane comments. Heat is one of the best defensive teams in the league, and they will make it hard for any guard. Outside of Luka and Lebron, noone else can play a superstar-level basketball game consistently at that age.

But if you make insane (and wrong) proclamations, then that player will get the scrutiny that comes along with the absurd praise when things head south. Trae is one of the best young players in the game right now, but he isn't a top 10 NBA player yet. If I were to compare Steph and Trae at their young ages, then obviously Trae is better.

Noone can even deny that.

Insane proclamations? He was literally #1 in points and assist something only one other player in NBA history has done. In your opinion he is not top 10, his biggest knock is his size and defense and guess who else has the same weakness. Top 10 is subjective but I will say why would the Heat give Trae so much attention if he wasn't a top 10 player in their eyes?
