According to that site it wont be available for at another 2 years (or more), so if you really want one you have plenty of time to get the money together

I wouldn't buy any new first iteration of a vehicle. Even if it's a new generation. Especially Chevy's. Almost everything they make now is junk, stupidly designed for repair, or looks awful. Older Chevy trucks are nice though.
And that EV looks awful. Just looks like an Avalanche which also looks awful.
Looks like a concept car lmao but still miles better looking than the porygon-esque cybertruck.

Tesla is the last American headquartered auto company that I'm willing to give a shot.
Ford, Chevrolet, etc... are seemingly designed with parts that intentionally fail for revenue generating purposes. Trash products. Which is really a shame too considering we used to be the intellectual powerhouse with auto manufacturing...

why get a truck if the cargo bed can't even carry more in it than an SUV

Because they have designed it as a lifestyle truck, duh. Lol.

but it defeats the purpose of having a truck. the entire point is for cargo space
I'd just buy something like this if I had a short bed. why leave things exposed to air to get stolen or rained on
you can't fit any furniture anyway

Well you can always opt to choose the regular version of the truck. It looks like this. They also offer ones with extended bed length too. And if you don't need the bed itself, then a cab-only version is available as well.

I wish they'd stop talking about EV 4x4s already and mass produce them so I can buy one. From what I understand, once tge supply chains get up in running in less than 10 years they should be cheaper to build than a gas truck and much cheaper than a diesel truck. But talk, talk, talk is all I see. I can't wait for them to actually have inventory sitting on the floorrooms where's there's not a line of people willing to pay double MSRP just to get their hands on one.
Admittedly I'm a little ignorant on the subject but I'm hearing many of the 4x4s will have independent power to all four wheels which would put it at an advantage over current fuel powered 4x4s. I think only the Jeep Rubicon has lockers up front and back among current 4x4s anyway. Also with no differentials as we know them, I'm assuming ground clearance will be superior to gas/diesel trucks.

4x4 EVs have tons of interesting advantages over their counterparts that still run on internal combustion engines. But due to obvious reasons they aren't recommended for hardcore flood/river fording activities so they aren't as flexible unless they can make them have hydroelectric motors. And in very remote places like sahara desert or outbacks of australia there's no certainty yet that they already have lots of power charging stations out there so fuel-fed mills remain a safe choice. For now.

John Conner :
The vid stated 8 foot items can be fitted into the bed.
Possibly like an Avalanche The back seat goes down.
The key is the whole drive train is between the frame , and the hood is actually a trunk.
If this truck was mass produced and selling around 30k it would be well worth it.
As far as your 'man' truck I have one , run it around the farm , and haul 30 loads a year.
Most folks haul nothing , but bikes or golf clubs, but I would take a truck over a car any day.
My suburban is my hunting vehicle , haul 2-3 dogs and is the ultimate hunting vehicle.

Wonder what the charging situation will be when 30% or more of cars on the road are electric

They won't do so well during flood times. :oldlol:
