it took significant energy to get Giannis to shoot poorly, so Tatum and company shot poorly themselves..

The best defense is a good offense and low efficiency can still be good offense if the opponent is expending significant energy to produce that low efficiency.

Btw, Jordan won the same way - opponents shot like dogshit because it took so much energy to hold MJ to low efficiency.. Terry Porter's three-point percentage was 52% on 5 attempts during the 92' Finals run - he was literally Damian Lillard (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MuSGY5Gnfro&t=0m08s) until he had to defend a backcourt that contained MJ - then his shots suddenly became off-pace and off-the-mark versus a superior force that put him on his heels.

this is truly stypid. It didnt take significant energy from tatum to get kd to shoot poorly? :lol. the bucks are a better defensive team than the nets and you add some variance from shots not always going in.

The Nets required the least energy to defend because it was your-turn-my-turn (no zippy ball movement) and Durant isn't physically imposing - he can't wear you down with physicality or a rim attack..

Otoh, the Bucks move the ball and Giannis is a physical force

So it's night and day - the Bucks' far superior offense and top guy (Giannis) requires much more energy than the Nets garbage brand.and featherweight star player.

yea you werent watching. the defense was expending plenty of energy following durant offball, denying him the ball in the post and being extremely physical with him.

It's harder to score or have the confidence/authority to go off when a team is on their heels and getting "punched in the mouth", according to Jaylen Brown.

The best defense is a good offense - are you unfamiliar with this tenet of competition?

Giannis and the Bucks' offense takes more energy to defend effectively than the Nets, who allow defenses to load up and bully 1 guy - defenses rarely have to scramble or get demoralized by a late shot clock bucket.. According to Kobe, they can just play tunnel vision against 1 guy (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DR4Y6y4CSsg&t=01m05s)

The team that can apply more pressure than they face gets worn down slower - they become the aggressor and the fresher team - that was the Celtics last series and the Bucks in this series.

It's funny because Durant was the one getting worn down, whereas Giannis is wearing the Celtics down.. Giannis catches the ball wherever he wants so there isn't this waste of entire shot clocks to get him the ball.

Any offense that spends the possession trying to get the ball to one guy is a beginner offense and predictable - it will get shut down.

This kind of predictable offense is vastly inferior to the ball movement, high-assist style of the Bucks, or the forays of Giannis..

Again, the Celtics are on their heels - they aren't stifling the Bucks because the Bucks have more layers to their offense than just getting the ball to 1 guy or your-turn-my-turn

I've watched the Nets and it is true they lacked chemistry. All year long... Kyrie was banned... then Durant got hurt... Harden quit... Kyrie and Durant barely played together and the whole roster constantly shifted. Even still they should have won game 1 and a couple others.

The Nets DID play a your turn my turn style in their loss to Boston. Their chemistry was poor. This DID give Boston extra offensive energy. Its much easier to defend 1 guy than a whole team even if said guy is a superstar. Especially if he's missing ie Durant this playoffs.

Well the Celtics spent a lot of energy on Kyrie too. Just obvious smart was working really hard

Well yes Giannis has an easier time getting to his spots than Durant. However again you don’t watch enough bucks games and didn’t even watch game 1, they’re not a high assist team 18th in the league in apg. They’re not selfish but they run more isos than most teams. 10 possessions a game 4th in the league. This isn’t a 14 spurs situation and they shouldn’t play that way with their roster tbf
