The all-time Warriors starting five is a legitimate perfect fit.

They have a Goat level rebounder and Rim protector in Wilt.

They have Goat level shooters in Steph and Klay.

They have a Goat level help defender in Green

They have a Goat Iso scorer in Durant or Barry

I honestly couldn't see another All-time team beating them in a seven-game series.

Parker/Manu/Kawhi/Duncan

In their primes is pretty scary.

All 4 were not in their primes outside of tony parker and still a ray allen shot away from back 2 back championships.

They probably go on to eliminate warriors and win the title in 2015 as well if it wasn't for Chris Paul's shot. Especially if Irving gets hurt in the finals.

They had a chance in '15, but Kawhi didn't show up in the last 2 games.

If Kawhi doesn’t choke at the FT line they win in 2013 too.

I wouldn't be surprised if this guy doesn't know who David Robinson is.

Nah

Lakers had an Allstar at every position and only managed 30 wins this season

I agree, I think the Warrior's have the best starting 5 of all time. Wilt can take on a Giannis role. Imagine 7'1 280 lbs Wilt allowed to carry and travel the way Giannis does. and on defense he's a stronger Rudy Gobert with the mobility to switch onto guards. Better Giannis surrounded by goat shooting? Please.

The Lakers will present a more star-studded and individually talented starting 5 though.

edit: left out the part about passing too. Giannis is a good passer, but Wilt was 'good enough to lead the league in assists' level passer.

On the contrary, Philly has the most talented worst fitting starting 5, at least under the modern nba rules

Iverson
Dr J
Barkley
Embiid/Moses
Wilt

tony parker averaged 10PPG on 38% TS

tim duncan let a 5"10 midget make a game winning layup over him

yes robinson as the center.

but honestly, i forgot about him because i feel 2005 manu ginobli reached a higher playoff peak then robinson ever did. Also Kawhi and Duncan are better players, especially kawhi.

It's a good question...

Utah
SG - Maravich
PG - Stockton
PF - Malone
SF - Dantley
C - Gobert

So you stopped starting 5 at 4 players because you think a 2 was better in the playoffs than a hall of fame center?

Sure, ok.

Bucks would have a pretty good shot Big O/Sid, Ray Allen, Middleton, Giannis, Kareem

David Robinson is still a much better player. If MVP/Quadruple Double/Scoring Title Robinson got to play with MVP Duncan the Spurs would be really scary.

For me I like to make teams where the guys put in AT LEAST 5 years of great work in on that team. So for GS, I wouldn't include Durant for that team. BUT for the list the OP laid out, it's HELLA HARD to top the Warriors in terms of fit. Steph-Klay-Barry-KD-Wilt would be hard to stop. With Wilt out there, would bring Draymond off the bench. And have KD move to the PF. And have Barry due to the point forward shit!

But best team starting five overall HAS to be the Lakers! Magic-Kobe-Cap-Shaq on the same team says it all! DAMN RIGHT I would go twin towers with Cap at PF and Shaq at center! Would throw Mr. Clutch at the SG for shooting and move Kobe to the SF!
