I am sick of seeing players get bailed out by cheap whistles with that stupid rip through move.

That **** just needs to stop being called as a foul as that is not basketball.

As can you imagine trying that in a pickup game?

They’d throw you out and you would get laughed at

That’s what it comes down to.

I hope the NBA outlaws the move altogether and if someone does it is an instant offensive foul.

As stuff like this is not basketball

If you ban the rip through, then how do you prevent players from reaching in and drawing contact? It would literally break the rules of basketball/fouling and leave things up to interpretation.

As much as you hate CP3 for ripping through, you should be blaming the defenders for being stupid enough to reach in like that against him. Any player with over a 10 IQ should know that Chris Paul is going to rip through if they reach in against him. Surely it's all over everyone's scouting reports and every opponent talks about it in practice. Seriously, any player who gets baited into it is a dumbass at this point.

You have to take a player's reputation into account.. You know that CP3 flops and does dumb shit to game the refs.. maybe don't give him the ****ing call?

I can't believe the refs fall for dumb shit like this, and people are applauding CP3 for being "smart"..

This basically shifted the entire momentum of the game, in no way should that be an offensive foul.

Not at all. The rip through move entails the offensive player purposely making the contact and flopping. If a defender reached and hit him itd be a different story but we all can see that the offensive player is the one initiating contact. Its a bogus bitch made move. Not surprised Chris Small abuses it.

The definition of "rip through" has changed over the years.

It used to be a classic move to take advantage of a defender's feet being positioned incorrectly - it was a blow-by move where the contact WAS NOT A FOUL..

nowadays, that contact is considered a foul, which is a joke, so you see savvy guards like CP3 using it in the BACKCOURT to draw a foul.. a pretty genius use of the Mickey Mouse rules

Luka Doncic tries the rip through on CP3 but the Point God strips it away from him
