First let me say…**** outta here.

Second….

Most big athletes have to have some kind of arrangement for friends or family to sell their game used stuff right?

Or is an extra 500-1000 for gear each game not worth it for them?

And now that I think about it 82-100 a year would flood a local market fast wouldn’t it?

Im just amazed they want that much for it. And I’d assume it sits for a while after he forced his way out. That price might well be lowered.

Considering regular jerseys are like 100-150.... a game worn and autographed jersey for a 1st ballot hall of famer on the team he'll be most remembered on... it doesn't seem that crazy. But I don't really know the jersey market.

Yup.

I wouldnt want it myself (in general, but especially not anywhere near that price) nor would most people.

But it only takes one LoneyROY out there to get wind of its availability. And boom, 899 profit.

I’m ok with the economics. Things are worth what one person will pay so go get it. That just isn’t something I can see wanting for any reason outside a future resale yourself.

If that’s what active largely disliked star jerseys go for in cites they are probably hated I don’t wanna know what a signed game word Kobe costs.

I'm sure he still has support in some quarters.

Oh he has his jersey literally retired in a club or two in Houston. But I see no evidence he ever existed walking around. I’ve seen multiple Ja Morant jerseys in here just in the old teal bear Big country ones that catch your eye. I’ve not seen a Harden jersey in 6 days in Texas.

Apparently, an autographed Kyrie Celtics jersey goes for more money than Larry Bird's.

Just saw a guy in the orange and red alternate Mcgrady jersey so maybe Harden comes back in time.

As somebody that grew up in the DipSet & StateProp era …. Where everyone, every age in chicago wore jerseys …. I always felt like as soon as I turned 16 I didn’t ever want to wear jerseys anymore, not when playing ball, not over a hoodie in winter, never.

Imagine paying $900 for a signed jersey of a maligned player for a team they don’t play for anymore ? Extra strength sucker Sh!t.

Well looking at this it’s almost a deal:

According to SCP Auctions (https://catalog.scpauctions.com/NEWLY_UNCOVERED_1996_97_KOBE_BRYANT_L_A__LAKERS_GA-LOT51284.aspx), a game-worn Kobe Bryant (https://theshadowleague.com/kobe-bryants-memorable-christmas-day-performances-black-mamba-is-still-the-nbas-all-time-scorer-on-december-25th/) Lakers jersey from his rookie year sold for $2,735,546 last weekend. The jersey was worn by Bryant on May 8 and May 10, 1997, in the Western Conference semifinals against the Utah Jazz. This is the only game-worn playoff jersey publicly known or available from Bryant’s rookie season.

Another of Bryant’s rookie season jerseys sold for $3.69 million last year. That particular jersey was autographed, and game-worn from the regular season. The price was the highest ever for a basketball jersey.

That would be great if some die hard Houston fan bought it and burned it.

Actually I think he got him the original. I feel like that would be worth a bit with the story you could prove.
