Easy to say when you know you won't have to back it up. Hey, I would lock Shaq up!! I would lock up Shaq AND MJ if they dared to face me two on one! But they're cowards. I win!

He would actually fit pretty well in the low 3pt 90s/00s, where interior defenders were extremely valuable, and perimeter defense wasn't as essential.
In today's era, his abilities on the defensive end are flat out a liability. He has been exposed for 2 straight playoffs, by mediocre playoff teams no less. Opponents are just raining 3s when he's on the court.
I feel sorry for any team who actually believe that getting him will help them win a championship.

Yeah exactly. Toody is delusional, he routinely gets abused by Jokic in the post due to their strength difference, but somehow he’s gonna “lock down” the strongest player EVER? Make it make sense.

Outside of someone like Wilt or maybe Gilmore, I can't think of a single center ever holding their ground against Shaq from doing that shit 10/10 times in a post mano a mano....maybe some of the older heads here may drop a few names that don't come to mind or I don't have enough knowledge of, but nobody at least in the last 40 years of basketball has a prayer.

He fits well in any era.
The issue is Utah is paying him $35M when he should only be getting $15-17M.
He eating up too much of the salary cap and he can't win you playoff games.

Rudy Gobert: Would u speak to me that way if you were standing in front of me @RealSkipBayless (http://twitter.com/undisputed/status/1524057185373802496) ? I’m cool with the constant disrespect and opinions about who i am as a player and i CHOOSE to let these things slide but it seems like people are getting way to comfortable…
Rudy Gobert says he would've "locked" Shaq up:
"Rudy, you are barking up the biggest, wrongest tree. Shaq was the most dominating offensive force in the history of this league." — @RealSkipBayless (https://twitter.com/RealSkipBayless?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) pic.twitter.com/082mkNdhdr (https://t.co/082mkNdhdr)

“I don’t have beef with Shaq, he said,” Rooks told O’Neal. “Yes, I do think I could lock him up. I’m never going to look at someone, whoever it is, and say, ‘Yeah, you would score 40 on me.’ That’s not my mentality.”
Shaq also clarified his feelings about guard Donovan Mitchell after the Jazz were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Dallas Mavericks, marking their third empty trip to the postseason in the last four years.
.@SHAQ (https://twitter.com/SHAQ?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) and @rudygobert27 (https://twitter.com/rudygobert27?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) traded barbs on social media. 👀🔒#TakeNote (https://twitter.com/hashtag/TakeNote?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) #NBA (https://twitter.com/hashtag/NBA?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) #NBATwitter (https://twitter.com/hashtag/NBATwitter?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) https://t.co/N98E9tgMZ9

“Donovan Mitchell is a really good player, that don’t even sound right to me,” Shaq said. “It should be Donovan Mitchell is one of the greatest guys ever, that’s what it should be. So my question to people like Donovan is, are you satisfied with being a really good player, or do you want to be great?”
Best player in franchise history and the trolls MVP. How much more can you expect from the guy?
