IIRC Horford was basically sucking ass on the other teams that he was on at this stage in his career (Philly and OKC) and ... it's amazing how fit and chemistry and coaching can change the perception we have of certain players... because Al Horford is basically borderline out of the league at this point on ANY other team other than Boston, most likely.
