From a PR standpoint, Memphis would never do it. And based on the fluidity of player movement overall, it would probably be unwise. But based purely on basketball, and with the current roster otherwise unchanged... considering how they play without him & what they could demand in return, trading Ja is probably a no-brainer.

Ja is not a finished product and is only making 12 million next year, even thinking of trading him is ****ing stupid if you're the Grizzlies. You'd have to include either JJJ or multiple other players in the trade to make the salaries work for a max player, and there's no one on a rookie deal that's as good as Morant is right now.

So yeah, you could gut the roster and sacrifice everything you've built for a small window with an aging Bran, Harden or Durant, but even suggesting a trade like that would get the GM fired on the spot.

Ja has not shown whatsoever that he can stay healthy and his style of play is probably going to rob him of multiple seasons in what should be his prime.
