Inspired by a post by bison in the Butler vs Draxler thread.

Lets separate the statnerds from the true connoisseurs of the game.

Not even in the same league.

Westbrook always had his immense flaws, but he was a legit player during a lot of the 2010’s, don’t let the disaster he’s become overshadow that, and he actually did play very well during his MVP season.

But as for the question at hand, I can’t imagine anybody taking Westbrook over the Jimmy Butler that we’ve seen during these playoffs.

I'd prefer prime Mike Conley or Jrue over prime Westbrook as a 2nd option. It's not recency bias, i value consistency more. Westbrook will have 2 great series but 1 dogshit series averaging 20 ppg on 25 shots and will get you eliminated. So Butler is obviously better imo.

Butler but Westbrook would have been better if he had a brain. Both better than that overrated brick artist Derrick Rose tho.

Is it fair to say Westbrook has the more impressive peak(2017) and Butler has the better peak?

After 2017 Russ forgot how to shoot ft's and the midrange(believe it or not the middy was ok early in his career) and became nothing but a reg season triple double stat padder.
