jordon was fully aware that he wasn't capable of having exceptional longevity, and therefore knew that he had to take years off his mileage in order to have an unfair advantage over his opponents when he came back.

Lebron sure had more time to surpass Jordan's accolades and championsip count. But he hasn't done that.

Perhaps he wasn't that dominant at all.

Lebron played with Shaq who won league mvp and 3 finals mvp's and lost in round 2. Lebron played with Peak Duncan who had won 2 league mvp's and 3 finals mvp's and won bronze medal. Lebron played with Peak Wade who won finals mvp and got outplayed by Jason Terry. Lebron played with Derrick Rose who won mvp under age 30 which was the same as Kevin Durant who won mvp under 30 while both were on Golden State and Cleveland. Lebron played with mulitple PER leaders as well and now Russell Westbrook a league mvp winner and more triple doubles than Oscar Robertson. Yet despite all of that Lebron lost with all of them.

http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?500416-Why-did-Pelinka-surround-Lebron-with-a-bullshit-roster
He has peak Anthony Davis, the best player on the 2020 squad and the reason the Lakers did anything as the 2019 Lakers missed the playoffs and 2021 Lakers lost in round 1 when AD wasn't around. He has Prime Melo who won a scoring title and all time leader in scoring for the Olympics. He has Dwight Howard a 3x DPOY and a guy who beat Lebron without HCA. He has Westbrook who is the modern day Oscar Robertson and also won league mvp along with average a Triple Double 4 years in a row. He also has Rondo who is a hall of famer.

Why didn't he play it against Dwight Howard in 2009 when Dwight was dominating http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?459570-How-is-it-even-possible-to-lose-to-Dwight-Howard-in-a-series-with-HCA/page10? Or against Duncan or KG or Dirk? Why did he run away from KD a guy at his position?

Difference between Lebron and Tmac?
http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?494830-Difference-between-Lebron-and-Tmac
Both 0-2 with HCA against 50+ win teams until they joined forces with someone who won as the man. Also won bronze medals.

Tmac lost to Utah in 2007 while Lebron was losing to a career loser in Dwight Howard and also Carlos Arroyo in the Olympics with peak Tim Duncan on his squad despite playing more minutes than Hakeem even played on the 1996 Olympic team.

Michael Jordan, CHI vs CLE, 1988..... 45.2
Michael Jordan, CHI vs MIA, 1992..... 45.0
ALL-TIME HIGHEST SCORING AVERAGES, NBA CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES/NBA FINALS
Michael Jordan, CHI vs PHO, 1993..... 41.0
Rick Barry, SFW vs PHI, 1965..... 40.8
Elgin Baylor, LAL vs BOS, 1962..... 40.6

Also MJ has 6 series in the playoffs over 40+ ppg.

Also consider the following:
Is 18% a good percentage?
In what you might ask... 18% winning percentage...
Pretty awful right?
Well in 60 years of NBA Basketball only 11 league leading scorers have won a championship... That's 18.333333%...
Their names are: Shaquille O'Neal, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, George Mikan and some guy named Joe Fulks...
Most of these players were dominant Centers, who did more than just score.
That means that non center players who led the league in scoring have won in an amazing 10% of the time.. and only one player did it... Michael Jordan. In one era. That phenomenon of nature who won six...
10% winning historically!!! 10 PERCENT!!!
I will argue that the odds are against a high scoring guard from winning it all.
Would you?
I will argue that who ever is the only one to do that should be considered a truly great.. would you?
I will say that the way to go is to build a team in which you get many other good options to score, a balanced attack?

I don't blame Jordan for retiring in 1993 as losing his father so suddenly would have been incredibly traumatic and hard for him to cope with.

Imagine how Lebron would have reacted in his prime.

If his mother or son died at the hands of someone else as Jordan's father did.

He would have most likely retired as Jordan did.

Nothing better than beating everyone around you, every single opponent that has been thrown at you, and then when theres no one left, just ride off in the sunset and pursue other goals in life (baseball, golf, whatever).

Actually there is, doing that TWICE.

96-98 doesn't happen if he didnt miss almost 2 full seasons in his prime.

Dude was burnt out mentally and physically after the 93 season.

If we play the hypotheticals I can say it would have been an 8peat. Nobody knows what would have happened. what actually happened is he beat everybody once, three times in a row, then he left the game to them, then he came back and beat everybody again. I consider Jordan's retirement and comebacks one of his greatest achievements. Others could get fat, lose their ability, but not Jordan.

Can you prove that? No, no you can't. So what do you have left? But we can play the game of just making things up if ya like. Jordan would have won 4 MVP's, 4 DPOYs, 4 championships if he played all the years instead of retiring. See how that works?

Tmac lost to Utah in 2007 while Lebron was losing to a career loser in Dwight Howard and also Carlos Arroyo in the Olympics with peak Tim Duncan on his squad despite playing more minutes than Hakeem even played on the 1996 Olympic team.

Sounds like a personal problem. Get that fixed.

Well you seem to have more psycholigical probelms with your dozen alts, physical issues with your obesity coupled with you social problems with your virginity.

:yaohappy:

Get those fixed first.

Not to mention his abnormally high estrogen.

Can you prove that? No, no you can't. So what do you have left? But we can play the game of just making things up if ya like. Jordan would have won 4 MVP's, 4 DPOYs, 4 championships if he played all the years instead of retiring. See how that works?

Not when we already know the reasons why he quit. He made mentions of possibly quitting the league before the series was even over.

You know it, I know it, as does many others that he was spent mentally and physically. Just like he said he was after 3 straight finals appearances 96-98.

Resting up for almost 2 seasons does wonders for the mind and body.

Speaking of soft divas, how many times did Jordan get females thrown out of games, who hurt his feelings on the sidelines?
