I don’t even dislike Marcus Smart for the record. He’s probably the result of a good decade of leagues deciding to normalize illegal forms of offense. Literally 100% of people he guards travel, 90% carry, half do carry/double dribble shot fakes, many stiff arm and dislodge….. and almost all exaggerate contact on shot attempts and off the ball. I totally was... then they abandoned the process and started, season by season, dwindling away their assets and their future. They've made poor decision after poor decision with free agency and trades. I think I stopped rooting for them somewhere around the end of 2019.

Embiid has become progressively more embarrassing with his flopping and the Sixers have botched the Simmons situation long before he ever had a meltdown in the playoffs... it was all just off putting.

Sure, we can quibble about the semantics...and I might agree with you depending on how you define your terms. My take would be guys like...just from this series...DFS, Maxi, Bridges...they are largely playing basketball on both ends.

Paul is not. He's always looking for an angle to bait or con the refs on both ends. I agree with you, but the issue with this is the refs have a hard time catching some of this shit in real time, which is completely understandable.

But there is no reason that players shouldn't at the very least start accumulating "I'm a bitch ass flopper" points where once they reach a certain amount, they get suspended. Just like technicals, except with much more shame. And they should ALWAYS be awarded retroactively and never ignored and let go regardless of whether it was called initially or not.
