Tatum, similar on offense but a superior defender.
Was never a big fan of Carmelo, great scorer, but couldn't do anything else.

Pretty much. Bit of a chucker and black hole when he was cold.

Easily Tatum Melo was a black hole on offense at times and played zero defense.

Tatum is better
However Melo's offense was a lot smoother imo

As others have mentioned in this thread, Melo at his peak was only a great scorer and not much of anything else. He was never a playmaker and his defense was always subpar. Tatum's just as good on offense and he's a good defender too. I'll take him

Offensively a wash I guess, but as others have said, defense gives Tatum the clear advantage.

peak melo was admittedly pretty great in 2013 better scorer than tatum. Still offense is close because he's such a black hole(less than 3apg). Tatum is by no means a great playmaker but he leads an offense that moves the ball well at least. Defense is really bad, possibly as bad as someone like current trae

Tatum and it's not really close. I honestly wouldn't want Melo on my team.
