View Full Version : Is James vs Butler the only example of a player winning 3 series on 3 different teams

2013 Eastern Conference Semifinals - Heat (LeBron's team) beats Bulls (Jimmy's team)
2015 Eastern Conference Semifinals - Cavs (LeBron's team) beat Bulls (Jimmy's team)
2020 NBA Finals - Lakers (LeBron's team) beat Heat (Jimmy's team)

LeBron's ownage spans over several different franchises, unlike certain others, whose career accomplishments are ball-and-chained to a single teammate/coach. :oldlol:

Butler's teammates were injured every time and Butler was in his 2nd season and wasn't even a full-time starter in 2013. Deng got injured in the POs and Rose was obviously out after his knee injury in 2012.

Jimmy shut down '13 and '15 Bran too, held him way below his averages and didn't get swept when he was supposed to.

Nice try though.

Seriously speaking though, Jimmy Butler post 2019 is different than 2013 and 2015 Jimmy Butler.

Butler wasn't an amazing talent in 2013 right off the draft like Kyrie Irving was, he hard worked his way into being as good as he is now.

jordon extremist alts who will count LeBron + a supporting cast who went 19-63 without him losing to the 73-9 Warriors + peak Kevin Durant as a legit finals loss talking about context and circumstances of a loss in a series. Oh man, that's rich...

the better Butler plays, the less 'Eastern Conference Ball' 'Western Conference Ball' there is.

What it comes down to is you don't get points for team hopping. Butler stuck it out on shitty talented bulls teams and then eventually transitioned to a lotto heat team. (at the time) And he had to battle title favorite super Heat and Cavs teams.

And then when it finally looked like wed have a somewhat decent matchup, Bam and Dragic, the Heats 2020 2nd and 3rd options.... both got hurt. While LeBron had AD playing at an MVP talent level.

You guys have weak arguments. You need to come with something better.

Conclusion: Yes, this is the only time in history where one player has owned another this badly over such a vast combination of time and space.

you do realize Jimmy Butlers moves are very similar to Lebron...

Butler certainly team hopped...forced trades from Minny and Philly at his wanting, he didnt just simply transition to a lottery Heat team lmao - nice sweep under the rug there

initial Cavs team were 'talented' (per 3Ball), not sure anyone would ever compare them to the early 2010s Bulls team tho, and Lebron-led Cavs battled title favs Celtics (original super team)

weak argument...like you said :applause:
