1. Mark Jackson, during his time coaching a young Steph and young Klay, is on the public record multiple times, saying Steph & Klay both, should shoot a lot less 3’s, and go to the bucket more. Jackson really thought that decreasing their volume of 3’s, and increasing their volume of penetration, was their best chance at going deep in the playoffs. Who knows what their careers would have amounted to, if he got his way. They certainly wouldn’t have blossomed into 2 of the top 10 shooters of all time. Hell maybe both top 5. Broke hella 3pt records in regular season and post season. Hindsight is 20/20.
2. Mark Jackson was completely serious, and insistent to the entire team, that Harrison Barnes shooting slump was caused by demonic possession. Wanted Harrison to undergo an exorcism, and didn’t worry one bit, that any of his players or fellow organization members would find this laughably insane.
3. After yet another first round exit, being told by GSW GM Bob Myers, that Jackson had a blank unlimited check to sign whatever offensive assistant he wants to, for any amount of money, even near head coach money. So, instead of swallowing his pride and pairing himself with the best offensive coach available on the market, Jackson stupidly and stubbornly says “No thanks, we’re good with the staff we have currently”. And when Bob Myers explained the situation to him, that Warriors ownership and management think that Jackson genuinely needed another offensive minded coach, who understood modern NBA offensive direction, and could maximize what GSW management believed to be generationally defining talents like Steph & Klay, Jackson stubbornly doubled down, reiterating the stupid “like I said, we’re fine going forward with the staff we currently have.”
4. Jackson created, out of thin air, a fake beef on his own team, with his own lies. Attempting to frame Festus Ezeli as being against the success of his own starting 5 teammates, out of jealousy, only to have it blow up in his face when players had a players only meeting, found out Festus Ezeli didn’t harbor any ill will or jealousy towards the starters at all, then players went to management, and started the process that got Jackson shitcanned for good.
I could keep going….
So every time any of you hear some unaware MF, say that Mark Jackson should get another head coaching job, it’s your MF duty, to explain to them WHY. No owner or management has any confidence in Mark Jackson’s judgement, knowledge, or personal conduct to ever let him impede the progress of their talent ever again.
