View Full Version : Can anyone explain how this Wiggins dunk on Luka is an offensive foul?

Why? Because of the incidental contact of slightly leading with the left arm by Wiggins? Because Luka flopped to the ground?

And this got challenged and STILL didn't get overturned? Is this a joke? What the actual **** did I just watch?

What am I missing? Help me out.

it's very simple, it's called driving the ratings down based on the current format.

They're pushing the new guys as hard as they can and this is the result. Luka gets a laughable amount of FTs even though he's a diving, flopping little bitch. The new Harden but gets the same RS calls he gets during the PS as well. Ja doesn't get called even though he's carrying literally every single possession he drives. And Giannis commits charges & travels about 25 times for both put together per game but gets called for 2-3 a game. You ref them normally and their impact drops.

It did get overturned, not that it wasn't a completely laughable call to begin with.

Teams tend to get more calls at home.

Look at Miami vs Boston in game 3, Celtics were at home and were getting all the calls, but still lost.

In game 2, Draymond was yelling at the refs all game after he got his 1st tech and they just swallowed their whistle and decided not to give him a 2nd tech.

The Mavericks have shot way more FTs in this series than the Warriors.

How often does a team down 0-3 crush the team beating them in FT disparity? Because Golden State plays to beat you from the field while Dallas desperately flops and ref baits all game long.

Warriors are also one of the lowest FT shooting teams in the league, they don't shoot that many in general, whether you look at their FTA or the FTr numbers, while the Mavs are above-average at FTr and have 3 guys who attack the rim and who can finish through contact so they're going to generate more FTs. GS has the best ball movement in the league as well so they're getting more wide open looks in the paint as a result of the Mavs' defense focusing on defending the 3PT line.

And there's more to officiating than just FTs. Dray should have been ejected early on in Game 2. Warriors in general get away with a lot of fouls on defense because of their reputation and they're very aggressive against Luka & Brunson, so the FT disparity actually makes sense as GS is willing to give up wide open 3s and are locking down the paint vs. the Mavs running guys off the 3PT line and giving up layups on the other end.

OK, ok, good. I didn't see last night's game other than parts of the first quarter.

Sadly, Luka, like Harden in many ways (offensive genius who is a low-effort defensive liability), is also alike in this way:

they both abuse many angles of sight limitation in referees.

The ref on the sideline legit thought that Wiggins half karate chopped Doncic throat with his off hand in mid air.

When replay showed that any contact that did happen was low impact at best, and the ref got conned by Luka.
