Keep in mind that All-NBA/ABA/BAA teams are the oldest individual awards/honors that exist. All-league 1st and 2nd teams are the only individual accolades that have existed since the BAA's inaugural 1946-47 season. They predate league MVPs by 9 years and even all-star selections by 4 years. They are the only non-team based accolades that allow for a direct comparison of someone like George Mikan to someone like Luka Doncic.
