Tatum brown smart because they are young and will get better as a core

The original big 3 we're all in their 30s when they joined up. All 3 were playing on bad teams.

Tatum/Brown/Smart have basically grown up together.

Not really an apples to apples comparison.

Tatum's core is obviously organic lol. Hopefully they'll be able to prove themselves later.

If we are talking prime we haven't seen the current Celtics all in prime yet but because of Garnett it would be the last Celtic Champsand it's not that close. If we are talking about what they actually accomplished the current guys have to win a championship before this becomes a fair comparison.

Also have to factor in that the 2008 squad turned Lebron into their punching bag and made him runaway to join Wade & Bosh in free agency the first chance he got.

You’ve asked two different questions. Who is better? The 2008 big 3 easily in my opinion. Who would I rather have? The 2022 big 3.

Brown and Smart don't compare to Pierce and Allen

But Dray and Klay do, and Wiggins and Poole do

So Warriors have a big 5, and Celtics have a big 1

Klay Thompson is on part with Ray Allen but none of those other guys is the equal of Pierce.

Impact wise Dray is close to Pierce, and Klay is more impactful than Ray

I think all of Dray, Klay, Wiggins, and Poole are more impactful than Brown or Smart. Wiggins gives you elite D and efficient 20 plus ppg, Poole is an offensive juggernaut and more talented than Brown. (shoots close to 40% from 3) while being an elite driver

This is an absurd question no matter what the result is.

KG > Tatum (whose great but everybody knows prime Garnett is on another level)

Pierce >> Jaylen Brown

Ray >> Marcus Smart

And then they still had Rondo who was basically a juiced up Marcus Smart.

well if you look at older versions of the celtics, this becomes more of a discussion. still boston's current "big 3" isnt very remarkable, what makes them good is their top 6 is good

Robert Williams is MILES better than Kendrick Perkins. That’s the difference.

Impact wise Dray is close to Pierce10 ASGs to 4, 4 times All-NBA to 2. Paul Pierce was a franchise player. An elite roleplayer on the other hand is still a roleplayer. There is a reason why Green has never got the max.

Greens defense leadership and playmaking don't show up in any stat sheet. But yes Pierce was better

And warriors are stacked and compete with each other for touches.

Poole averages 26/5/5 on 64% TS when curry doesn't play

I think poole has a legit shot at FMVP, he's a superstar who hasn't quite broken out yet on the big stage.
